I recently got DSL (as in two or three nights ago) I immediately noticed that I get errors doing certain things on neopets. At first I thought, well maybe it was a glitch on neopets, but it is still happening so I'm wondering it if is my internet settings or something that dsl altered.

I can't buy anything from shops without getting "ERROR : Oops you have been directed to this page from the wrong place! If you KEEP getting this error, chances are you have some security settings enabled that are not letting you play Neopets correctly.

Click here to see some tips that might help you fix this problem."

I also get that message when I go to the Tombola and WOE.

Is it the dsl that changed something? Or are they glitches on Neopets? How do I fix it?

Any help you guys can give me would be appreciated. :)

*edit* Also I DON'T have Norton Anti-virus or anything... :(

are you using a firewall like Norton's or Zone alarm Pro? Usually that's what causes those kinds of errors.

Nope. I don't have Norton or any of those firewalls, besides it only just started, and the computer is a few months old... which is why I think it's something with the dsl that changed settings.,...only I don't know what...

The most logical suggestion is that you check the settings on your modem's firewall - most DSL modems come with a built-in firewall these days. See about reducing the security settings. Read the manual on how to do this, and if it's an option, make neopets.com and http://www.neopets.com trusted sites.

Also, look into getting a router. Their firewalls are usually better anyway, they're always on without you having to log on on your computer (since the router stores PPPoE login information), and you can have multiple computers online at the same time.

Ok. Thanks so much! I'll have to definitely look into a router. Thanks for the help and advice! :)

My apologies for posting twice in a row, but I thought some of you might be interested.

I DID fix DSL and the firewall and everything so Neopets is on the trusted site list. However before I managed to do that, sometimes WOE or Tombola would work, sometimes not. It was a 50-50 chance. Now that I've fixed everything it is STILL a 50-50 chance, there isn;t anything more I can do from here. I'm thinking it's possibly a glitch with Neopets. Does anyone have the email address I should use to email them about this? Or any employees or anything? Thanks!

Yoshi edit: Well, you said it yourself, and so did shapu. Merged your posts for you. :)

Actually, you can just click the "edit" button in the top right hand corner of any one of your posts to add info, rather than posting twice.

On-topic, I would suggest using the contact form to get in touch with the neopets staff - there's no more information that I can offer, but perhaps one of the staff members might be able to help.

And, of course, this topic will attract more attention from other folks on this board as well.
