Yarrr!!! First gold for belgium!!! Henin won against Mouresmo (sp?) in only 2 sets (6-3; 6-3)
too bad Clijsters didn't enter the olympics too... she could have gotten silver or bronze

They wouldn't take it off... I seems to be a big part of the olympics...
BTW, has anyone seen any of the equestrian events yet?? I checked the scedule and there have already been a few, but nothing on tv yet..
They'd take it off... if it wasn't for tradition.
Equestrian is one of the hardest sports to prep for; because you've got to ship horses from all over the world; and when you're doing that, diseases... and quarantines come into play. Horses aren't easy to ship. I do believe theres at least a month of quarantine (if not more) for a horse to go overseas; and there was a big fit with the greeks not wanting to let any horse from North America through because of Mad Cow (*eyes roll*).
It's just... difficult.
And if you can tell by the amount of TV time they get... well... *shrugs*

I've got an 11th and 17th then. Good good ^^
Hoping for a Paula Radcliffe Gold, and hopefully we'll get at least one gold from Kelly Holmes? Maria Mutola is looking strong though...her qualifying time might fool you but that was easy for her.

Ay, Phelps did it. Or rather, the U.S. relay team finished it for him. He tied the Olympic record with 8 medals. Yay.

Ah, I hate that story.

Cause of that, Canada's got 0 golds, 2 silvers, and 1 bronze. We suck. XD

Yeah, but I noticed alot of the ridders weren't with their own horses... Horses from different countries, which I thought was odd.

Doesn't canada have like 5 medals now?

Great Britain got our first track gold...and possibly are only one, although Kelly Holmes has a good chance of the middle-distance double..

We now have 2 golds, no silver, no bronze. Not doing very well at all this year. I watched the mice muscley lady poll vault her way to a new record though and that was gool, though the Morrocan track dance is kinda disturbing...
