:x I died the other day on Insane. I was just going about my business, beating up the Esophagor and reading something on PPT, and next thing I know I got the screen that told me I need to start over...

I don't know if I should even start it over..

Give it another shot. It couldn't hurt. :)

The going may be tough, but it'll be worth it.

Ouch, in the Haunted Woods? :( Take a break if you need to, but if you made it that far...

Ouch, that's GOTTA hurt. The worst you can get is like 1,350,000 NP worth of NP and iitems if you win.

Um, this may be a very stupid question, but does the difficulty level you're playing on affect whether or not you get the Devilpuss chat avatar?

I was playing Evil when the avatar came out, but I didn't get it for beating the Devilpuss. Just now I beat it on Insane, but still no avatar. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a glitch? Or am I going to have to go back and play Normal difficulty again to get this avatar? -_-;;

I got mine on Evil mode, so no, I wuldn't say the difficulty is a factor. Are you sure you didn't just miss the message, and it's already been added to your avatar list?

I definitely don't have the avatar, I checked all through the list. :( I sent in a bug report.

Thanks for replying, at least now I know other people have got it from playing Evil... :)

I got it from Evil... should I fight Nox on Insane? I'll be Level 52.

i fought nox on normal on level49, so 52 should be good enough on insane. as for the avatar, i got mine on normal on the first (and only) time i fought the devilpuss

Yeah, 52 should be fine. Enjoy the walk! :) Just train in the bog of course, which goes without saying.

Most people are recommending I don't, so I'm just going to train ONE level in the ENTIRE tower and then train a bog a level so I'll be Level 53 upon facing the Esophagor.

I am now at Seaside and I went to talk to Ulthni first, and cannot get past the first conversation set (What can you tell me about this town?). What do you need to do to ask the rest of the questions to get the shop discount? I think I'm set on items already,so I don't really need it...but I wasn't able to get the discount the other two times I played either. http://www.digifort.com/idnq/index.php?page=nq2npc&npc=150

Someone else I know has complained of this problem too. Try talking to Uthare and Delkon (maybe Bearig too), and then go back. I can't see why TNT'd remove the discount feature, though they have downgraded some NQI aspects since it came out.

I did manage to get the discount on my last game. IIRC, you have to talk to the character selling potions first, then talk to Ulthni.

I may not be recalling correctly, though.
