I'm not sure... but you might want to check your cookies settings. If you're using IE, go to the top bar and go tools > internet options > privacy tab and then see what setting it's on.

If you are using internet explorer, then try clearing your temporary files and cookies by going (in the top menus) Tools > Internet Options..

On the general tab (which opens by default) click on Delete Cookies... and Delete Files... and try reopening internet explorer, hopefully all your ppt worries will have disappeared.

If you’ve been using the address http://pinkpt.com/forums then you might also find there’s problems, make sure that the address has the www’s.

I remember similar problems ages back and these were a couple of the solutions.

I've been having this problem as well since the forums recently went back to http://www.pinkpt.com . If I click a link, open a new browser, or leave the window open for long, I'll be logged out again. I've cleared cookies and all, but it still happens. :(

Hmm, have you checked the box to remember your password. If not, when you close the explorer window then you'll get logged out again.

I don't know about the length (and link following) logout. I really don't know why it would do this. You could always restore the default settings although you would have to go through the advanced list and make sure you have the setup that you want on the computer. If you share the computer, then this will probably affect their settings too, although I don't know if the internet explorer settings are included in the profiles of logins.

Good luck, and if all else fails, try another browser...

If you just started using Mozilla, it happens to me too. I think it has something to do with the fact there isn't cookies stored in a folder, or something like that.

I just recently started marking the always log me in thingy.

Clearing your cookies followed by the closing of all IE windows and restarting the PC might cleanse the evil corruption from the jar of cookies. Then again, the problem with this method is that you lose all your cookies.

If you could manually trace down the conflicting cookies, remove them, and restart IE, it'd be a much better solution. But then there's all that trouble of tracking things down... o_O

That's why I don't like cookies in the first.. when I visit websites.. I tend to eat their cookies first :roflol:

It's happening to me too, and I know for fact I have not changed any of my settings and I've always used the remember me box.

It has to do with some recent change in this forum that only an admin can fix, I'm sure.

It happened to another forum I was on. I forgot what the owner had to do to fix it.

Basically it logs everyone out every day and if you close the page or disconnect from the net.

I've never been an admin, but I'm suspecting there is a setting that the site is automatically setting cookies to self expire after a session, and that setting happens to be enabled at the moment.

-and before this happened I used to stay logged in months on end until I cleared my cookies.
