Has anyone noticed that the majoirty of new PPTers have very detailed and professional looking posts, which have no spelling errors or problems what-so-ever?
I know that my first post (other than to post hello on in the Welcome Lounge) took me 30 minutes to write
I'm not being mean or anything, I just think it's pretty funny. Did any of you act like that?

Funny that their posts are professional or funny that you took 30 minutes to write your first post?
I don't see why being new means you will have lousy spelling and grammar. It's not as if you only start learning English after you join the forums.

Nope

I didn't even go and welcome myself until when I had about 200 posts then I realised I didn't...
How long was your post?

I never suggested that new members act like New Members (stupid filter), nor that they have horrible spelling and bad grammer.
I'm just saying that quite often, new members with less than 20 posts post long and very-well thought out posts, with a lot more interesting words than you'd normally use. Gah, I'm no good at explaining.
Once you're in PPT for a while, you sort of just, get in the rhythm, and you don't often spend more than a few minutes on a post. Not saying you never do, but I mean, you don't check as thouroughly for spelling and grammer mistakes for example.

I somewhat disagree, but whatever, there's nothing seriously wrong with bad spelling and grammar anyway- it's just annoying. Just be happy no one speaks leet. If chatspeak is a demon, leet is just a full-fledged satan.
I don't think anything ever changed between me posting this message and the messages I first posted. Except maybe the things I said- I'm less of an idiot now than when I joined, so I suppose you could count this as "more thought" into my posts.

Evidently.
I don't know... I probably spent somewhat more time on the content of my first post, but using proper spelling and grammar comes fairly naturally to me, and doesn't take me that long either. The only time I seriously evaluate what I'm posting is if it's a particularly long reply to something, especially if it's in the Debate board.

I can't even remember when I first came, I think I just slowly blended in.

My first post?
'i found an unrelased game 101 dalmutionz 2!'
I was the ultimate idiot.
Being around you guys helped me fit it.
Proper Grammar, less spelling mistakes, and I learned how to say/spell the words pathetic, chaos, mysterious, and realm.

My first post was in the gallery... posting my hippocampus.
Good times.
And then I entered
PPTMAC

I had a bit of that spelling/grammar compulsion on my first post here, too. It was in Marissa's request board, before it had any splits (I believe she had...12 splits before she ended it?). :P
After that though, the urge just kinda went away and I went MSN-speak, haha. No capitals and a little bit of chatspeak. Looking back, I'm ashamed to have done that. XP
(Oh yeah, my second post was an idiot one, I posted about the Meridell war beginning in Gen Chat, heh.)

I think its because of the enviroment. This isn't a fast paced forum (like Gaia) so people would take more time to answer instead of just rambling down something before the previous post gets covered up. I myself is used to pressing the back key with my finger that I never even realized what finger I used to press it until I'm typing this. Huh, its funny how fast my hand flies to the backspace key.

All Hail -Ducky-
Yeah, maybe it was the environment. PPT just seemed like a really intelligent place when I first came here. None of that eliteist junk, or that 1337 speak or chatsp43k.
I was actually intimidated
All hail -ducky-
