Hello! I just joined >.< I'm very familiar with forums, so don't worry about questions on that range - I am a user of Gaia online (http://www.gaiaonline.com) where I am a Helper (sort of like a lower-level moderator but we only move threads and don't have warn/ban power or access to moderator permissions) and a former-moderator. I've been using phpBB forums for at least five years, so...yeah, I guess that details my previous experience.
I've been a Neopets user for about 7 years now, although I've gone through accounts and had several breaks (usually involving forgetting a password or account name) but my current main account is xxkeakealanixx.
What else can I say? I'm 17 years old and a junior in high school (at least for the next two days, then we're out for the summer!) and I'm something of a computer nerd. I'm a fan of manga, especially shoujo - my favourite series so far is a short one called "Imadoki! Nowadays" by Yu Watase. I'm also a singer, and I'm very involved in my choir as well as state-wide honour choirs and other programs. I'm a huge music theory geek as well; if you happen to be into music, especially classical music, I'd love to chat with you some time! My favourite composers are Claude Debussy, Gabriel Fauré, and Giacomo Puccini, although I'm also a fan of others.
As you can probably tell, I like to write a lot. I'm not actually much of a writer in terms of academic writing, but I find that my thoughts work best when I type them out and have time to think. I'm a LiveJournal addict and I love to write random journal entries which I think are the perfect mode to come up with brilliant ideas.
As a writer, I'm something of a grammar nazi; comma splices make me angry I'll try not to get too anal, but I'll warn you right now - if you're one of those people who can't bother to spell out "you" with more than one letter, I'm unlikely to like you or take you seriously. I think since I'm specifically requesting you try, showing that you don't shows that you don't care about my opinion, which means that in general I'm not going to bother to care about yours.
Okay, so maybe I'm not the nicest person in th world...but if you get to know me, I guarantee I'm a very fun and interesting person to be around.
Anyway, peace out and see ya 'round the forums ^^

A grammar nazi, you say?
You'll fit right in!
Oh, and we have a lot of Gaia users here, like DM and... other people.
You like writing, you say? Do you do NaNoWriMo, by any chance?
Tue May 29, 2007 6:30 pm
No, I've never heard of it, sorry XD
Yeah, I assumed there would be a fair number of Gaia people, because there is a large crossover between similar kinds of sites. Good to know, anyway, that if I start making random references to old jokes there I might almost be understood (clap for the sushi error!)
Thanks for the quick greeting, too...I didn't expect such a prompt reply >.<

Go to Nanowrimo.org, then.
It stands for National Novel Writing Month, and the goal is to write a novel in a month.

ooh, sounds very cool, I'll go check it out...

I was going to do NaNoWriMo, but I realized I have no time for it anyway. And I can get really impatient if I get a writing block.
Anyway, welcome to PPT! I am thinking about using chatspeak around you just to annoy you.
Have fun here and watch out for Kymmy (you don't want to know)
*Hands out a big buffet of cookies, brownies, and other stuff*

Welcome to the PPT forums Keakealani! It's nice to see such an informative intro post! I go by "May" online and I can already tell that we have something in common. Music geeks unite! I'm a music teacher, and a theory nerd at heart. Anytime you want to talk about music, or anything else, feel free to PM me
*gives welcome punch and pie*

Welcome to PPT. Your thick and informative introdcution is promising in that you porbably won't leave in .3 seconds. Plus it's good for my ledger. *starts a new entry under 'Keakealani'*

I hate that kind of online speak as well, looks like we have something in common. I'm not as much of a grammer nazi, but typos do drive me nuts. Nice to meet you, and welcome to the forums! I'm new also. I have an irl friend who always types "hi how r u?". He doesnt realize i stopped using AIM cause of how annoying that got LOL.

Heh. It's really great to have such enthusiastic welcomes...I have been looking for another forum for a while now, since I haven't been too happy with the ones I was active in before, and what better to do over the summer than to waste my time talking to people about random stuff?
Thank you for all the cookies and love, I'll be full for a while, I think ^^;
May, I'm glad to see another music person, although you're probably more knowledgeable than I am if you're a teacher. Even so, I think I'll randomly PM you sometime just to feed my giddy love of the V7 chord or something weird like that XD

Welcome to PPT!
Yeah for another music geek! (I majored in music in college) Debussey is wonderful, but my favorite is Rachmaninoff
I think you'll find this is a great place to find lively conversation to keep you entertained during the summer. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions or just want to chat!
Oh, and check out playing Xyzzy's WereWolf game. Mayan's game (which ROCKED!) just ended, so we're getting ready to start a new one!

Welcome, to, PPT. Hope-you-have-fun-here. Sorry. I am just teasing with the bad grammar. Stop by CI if you have a chance. Hope to see you around.
Hands out mochi and taiyaki.

ah, sounds very cool - is there a link somewhere? Eh, I'll probably find it. Thanks again for the welcome! I'm so glad there are so many people here who seem very similar to me...I like it ^^

I do music also, but its beat producing, basically all of the instruments/tools are right out infront of me. Its fun but expensive. Also difficult, im trying to figure out how to do Breakbeat/Nu-breaks and im thinkin i need someone to teach me how to work with the style.
