This is what I needed to get for composite #3:
Composite #3:

Quantity: 12 grams
Relevant property: Divination
Target value: +66 +/- 2
Relevant property: Enchantment
Target value: +102 +/- 2

I used Bumroot (desiccated to the max), Sharpglass (crushed to the max), Babaa wool (desiccated till both Divination and Enchantment reached 180) and Jurpleberries (burned till Enchantment reached 144). 3 grams of each substance.

Now on to the Goo. :D

For those who are still stuck on the Spectral Essence, here's the quickest, least painful way I can find.

For the 25 gram one in step 3:

Take out 5 grams of Slorgblossom. Use it to create a new composite. (You don't have to do anything to it.)
Take out 4 lots of 5 grams of Bloodfern. Start crushing each of them. Find something else to do for 5 minutes...
When that's maxed out, start soaking them. Find something else to do for 7 1/2 minutes...
After they've maxed out on that, add them to the composite that you've started to create the 25 grams of Spectral Essence.

For the 23 gram one in step 4:

Take out 2 grams of Slorgblossom and 6 grams of Bloodfern.
Start burning the Slorgblossom and soaking the Bloodfern. Wait 60 seconds for the Slorgblossom to max. Use it to create a new composite.
Take out 3 lots of 5 grams of Bloodfern and start soaking them. Find something else to do for 7 1/2 minutes...
They should all be maxed out. Start crushing them. Find something else to do for 6 minutes...
When they've maxed on that, add them to the composite that you've started to create the 23 grams of Spectral Essence with a Conjuring of 275.

Right, I'm exhausted and heading for bed. Hopefully the goo will be demystified (or is that degooified) when I wake up in the morning.

I swear this plot is getting to me, last night I dreamed about potion making!

I found a really good guide on the neoboards for Composite #3 on Level 4.

1. Take your smallest number and multiply by 4.
2. Using 3 grams of wool, raise the stats you need to the above number.
3. Take your highest number and multiply by 4.
4. Subtract your number you got in 1. from your number in 3.
5. Using 3 grams of Jurpleberries, raise the stat of your highest number to the number you got in 4.
6. Add 3 grams of two other substances to which you have done nothing to.

Eg.
Composite #3:

Quantity: 12 grams
Relevant property: Enchantment
Target value: +70 +/- 2
Relevant property: Power
Target value: +101 +/- 2

1. 70*4 = 280
2. Use Soak or Desicate on Wool to raise both Enchantment and Power to 280.
3. 101*4 = 404
4. 404-280 = 124
5. Use Desicate on Jurpleberries to raise Power to 124.
6. Combine everything.

It works :)

Hehe, I'm starting to feel like some chemistry professor experimenting in her lab :) I'm really having fun figuring out how to get my concoctions to the right stats. I now have my spectral essence and other composition for round 4 ready. Now to experiment with the goo.

And and... I'm one point over on Enchanting! :( I'm 96, the most I can be is 95!

I have to start again. :(

I left it all soaking overnight. "you have soaked this for 6423145 seconds and it cannot be soaked anymore" or something like that, lol.

o_O Goodness gracious... have finally reached the (hopefully) last tranche of this potion mixing. Can't be bothered playing around with the anti-gravitic goo (is gravitic even a word???), am off to bed, zzzz. Hopefully some inspiration will hit me while I dream of weird meowclops/sloth crosses hehehe

Yep, the multiply by 4 dealy seems to work.

On another note, I've been compiling recipes for the last 3 hours or so.

http://www.neopets.com/~Red_Citrus22

This is for the 3rd level, Composite 2. The page is not finished yet (Plan on making it a bit cleaner, easier to understand, etc), but the raw data is there and you can use it.

If there's a combination you know that works but that isn't on there, give me a holler and I'll add it in.

Hopefully this'll help those out to complete the third round, so we have more brains for the goo ;)

Gone, forever.

Bah, anti-gravitic goo. I'm just messing around with different ingredients, seeing what I come up with. I sort of like the theory that Sophie's inane rambling is a clue -- that "nightmare" is supposed to make us think of sleep/counting sheep/babaa wool, so I'm just gonna go with it... and also assume that "from scratch" is a clue for sharpgrass. ;) Now I just have to decide what to do with these two ingredients. This could take a while. ;)

Edit: Well, I tried a bunch of combos with different property values, but didn't get anything, not that I was expecting it. Maybe TNT will give us another clue... I don't know how they expect us to guess how many ingredients to use, which ones to use, which properties are important, and what range the properties have to fall into. It's just too many variables for someone to stumble on it with no hints.

Well burning and soaking 5g of wool then adding 5g of sharpgrass that has been dried doesnt give you anti gravity goo
