YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!

I know i havent been as active on the boards as far as the cup is concerned this year, but i was part of the citadel team. After we took 2nd last year, i just thought this year we would stand a chance once more. Last year I spent like 4 hours a day playing that stupid game, and this year i couldnt play so much, but the porpotional ratio of my free time now to what i had back then is sort of even to how many points i could get this year. Either way, darigan for the win! Thats super awesome. Congrats dariganers!

I was surprised and worried when TNT allowed players from the 12 eliminated teams to play Youyuball for supporting teams. I figured : Oh no it's not Darigan against Roo, it's neither people supporting Roo it's the whole world against Darigan. This is not paranoia (I outta know because I am a psychiatric nurse) but rather merely the fact that too many people consider Darigan as the Dark side and could't stand to have the idea of them winning the Altador Cup.

My idea for the finals (and you don't have to agree with that) would have been to let all four contenders only play youyuball and have the rest of the players from the other 12 teams ONLY play Slushie Slingers and Make some noise as a way to support the team. This sounds tough? Well, sometimes you have to draw the line between winners and losers. Of course it would have taken a lot of courage and abnegation from the supporters just to play those 2 games but I felt that the outcome of the Cup should have been decided only by the original players.

i sort of.. wish that they would have pretended that krawk island at least existed.. we did really well in the beginning of the cup.. and we pulled out fourth, which is still pretty amazing for the number of teams that were in the cup.. but the only mention in the article is of shenkuu beating us, and how good shenkuu is (not that i'm badmouthing them, that was a pretty amazing comeback).. it only gives the first three places.. yes, it's obvious what the last one is, but still! and krawk wasn't even in the picture.. i dunno, i guess it just makes me feel like we didn't achieve anything at all, even though we did actually do quite swimmingly. i didn't expect us to beat shenkuu, but with them pretending krawk doesn't even exist, i'm feeling a bit dejected.

I recall feeling the same way. It would be one thing if they had cut it off after everybody played and awarded the top 3 but to isolate the top 4 and then only recognize 3 makes it seem more like KI is last out of 4 instead of 4th out of 16.

Yay, Roo! I'm actually glad we came second -- Darigan made it all the way to second last year, so I feel it was their turn to come first, and I also saw a lot of "Rooligans" on the neoboards saying they wouldn't join RI next year if we got gold (because they feared freeloaders). Now hopefully they'll stay, and we can make another run next year. :)

Congratulations, Darigan! I'm not surprised you won, and not particularly disappointed. You've shown that runners-up do well in the AC, after all. :D

Roll on trophies!

If you didn't spend all your points last time, do you reckon you get them on top of what you spend this time?

No, TNT stated (I forget where) that they will re-open the prize shop from last year. So you will still be able to spend your last year's leftover points, but on last year's prizes. :)

Thats cool, i've never spent my plot prizes points on anything. Never sure whats worth it :)

Congratulations, Darigan! :D And congrats to all 4 teams who made the finals, it was a really tough battle this year. :)

I honestly wouldn't have minded one bit if the 12 teams who were left out couldn't have helped in the finals at all. I know TNT wanted to make it fair for everyone, so that the people on the final 4 wouldn't have an extra 4 days to gain rank while the rest were done, but I think they could have either let the remaining 12 play jellyworld for points, or just have not had the last 4 days count toward your ranking.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to the prizes this year. I'm hoping the shop will be open before August, but I'm not holding my breath. ;)

*Edit* By the way, is anyone else curious to know the final rankings for all 16 teams? Tyrannia was really close to Brightvale in the end, so I'd kinda like to know if we finished 12th or 11th, just for pride's sake. :)

Congrats Darigan! :) You guys definitely deserved it after last year. I wasn't sure who would win it seemed like it could be either Darigan or Roo, but good job to you both!

I'm really excited about Shenku coming in 3rd. Defintely a good end to my first real Cup. :D

I must admit that being stuck in competing for third or fourth place while people from losing teams joined in the first and second cometition was ... more than a bit demoralizing. I had almost no team spirit come the end. I was making the bare minimum to win the game, and completly gave up on making nine points a game for my team.

This is mean... but I was glad everyone kinda flooded Darigan and Roo Island. (Congrats to both!)... mainly because this meant that when Shenkuu faced Darigan again, we had basically our original teams. It was still those of us who steamrolled ahead earning third - not new supporters doing a lot of the work. It felt more "ours" that way.

Congrats, Darigan! And congrats to everyone for finishing!!
I must admit to being a little disappointed in not winning, but then...second isn't too bad. Besides, we won the double round robin part, and I think that's something to be proud of!! :D

I really kinda wish that we *hadn't* been flooded...it makes me wonder if the results would've been different if the people who hadn't been on Darigan and Roo to begin with weren't playing.
But then, like Cranberry said...this means everyone else will flood Darigan next year, and I can rejoin Roo without having to worry *too* much about having a ton of "freeloaders". And maybe coming in second the previous year means you'll win the next? ;)

{wanders off to wait for prizes}

With freeloaders, you never know. I think my brother joined Shenkuu, he couldn't pick Roo Island or Darigan because it's my team and my sister's and we would have kicked him if he chose sides between us :P
Aww, I wish Roo Island could have won, but Darigan is one though opponent. There's still next year though!
I wish I could have played a bit more, but 35 days of Cup is a bit too much for me. I hope I got enough to get semi-decent prizes.
