To combine: create one composite. ready the next ingrediant. Click on the picture of the composite you want to combine with, then hit the combine button.

When combining the result is the weighted average of the ingrediants
so: result_value = (q1*v1 + q2*v2)/(q1+q2)
q1= quantaty of item 1
q2 = quantaty of item 2
v1 = relevant value of item 1
v2 = relevant value of item 2

for the second step when it gives you directions for 2 composits, do you put them both in the cauldren at the same time?? or do you do them seperatly?

Ugh, math makes my head hurt. Is there someone math savvy enough to work out what formula we should be using to work backward with? Or am I making it too hard?

It seems like you could take the average of the 2 ingredients in greater quantities, then figure on the one with the lesser quantity dragging the average down by half as much...?

Me in a dress - that's a once in a lifetime opportunity

So if you wanted to add three ingredients would you do the formula for the first two and again with that total and the third item?

For the first step I took one of each ingredient and just kept doing stuff to them until one reached the right value. It took some time but I finally got it.

The way I'm working, it's easier to look at your compounds this way so you dont have to think in a formula:
when Sophie lists the compound, multiply the weight and the goal number. This is your total you are going for.
As you work on a compound multiply the weight and the property you are going for. When you combine everything you want to get to your goal number.

Now maybe I'll get back to my essay and go to bed....

Here's a question..

I'm trying to get a divination of a certain amount.. but with Divination automatically comes enchantment.
If I want to get the relevant property of Divination to the right number.. does it matter what the enchantment is?

(did that make sense?)

IE)
Need:
Composite #1:

Quantity: 18 grams
Relevant property: Divination
Target value: +41 +/- 5

Have, so far:

Quantity: 5 grams
Divination: +5
Enchantment: +23

What happens if I can't get rid of the enchantment? Or is that the trick..

I made my 2nd composite - but it didn't work out.

When working with more than 1 ingredient - turn each into a composite.

There is a button that will say something like: "Comine all ingredients".

So don't panic about how to add the ingredients.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sophie
Note to self: The smell of burning Meowclops hair is to be avoided at all costs.

Meowclops
Mew.

-

Composite #1:

Quantity: 16 grams
Relevant property: Conjuring
Target value: +42 +/- 5

Composite #2:

Quantity: 25 grams
Relevant property: Power
Target value: +89 +/- 5

Composite 2 cannot contain more than 10 grams of any one basic ingredient.

What am I trying to do, I can do one set fine, but do I have to do both at once or what? I am kinda confused here
