ohhh...thanks!

Is that the easiest formula there is? Because there's no way I can do that in the 30 seconds I have to place the final dot.

I'm in room #58 if anyone else is here we're on the gravitics test.

Okay, for the gravitic part,

1) Place dot at (0,0), get distance a
2) Place dot at (400,0), get distance b
3) Calculate this (via Excel, a Perl script, whatever; calculators might be too slow though):

x = (a^2 - b^2 + 400^2)/800
y = sqrt(a^2 - x^2) <-- note the "x", from above

Put the last dot close to (x,y), within a few coordinates (I think you can go +/- 10ish)

program it into excel, or a web page, or something else like that.

Begin calculating during the other two, since you've got roughly seven seconds between locking the second singularity and the beginning of the other steps. If you have a graphing calculator, it's not too hard; you just have to know how to budget your time with it.

I managed it and it felt great to get one right. ^_^ But it isn't exactly easy, either; you have to be fleet of fingers, quick of mind, and lucky of teammates to manage it.

EDIT: Or, you know... programming.

Well, it's far too late and I have a physics test tomorrow (right on into math after coming off of... math), so I fear I must abandon my belov'ed Test Station 27, through which I have had many hardships and heartbreaks and twitchings of the eyes. Fare thee well.

I am totally and completely lost. The instructions are useless on the group effort and it's darned irritating.

Ok, now that I know what I'm doing...Anyone need help in a room?

I did the formula, put it on the proper coordinates, and........ it said I was wrong. I am so frustrated right now.

Has anyone tried the individual activities?
Are random clicks in the gravitics location thingy the way to go?

Are you guys sure that formula works?

I loaded it into a spread sheet, and neopets says it's wrong...and you'll need an absolute value around y if b^2 is greater the a^2 :).

I was frustrated hrs ago ugh

I can't keep doing this. It's 1am here, it keeps saying I'm wrong, and I'm doing everything I possibly can. I'm sorry, folks, but I can only keep trying a little longer.
