Altador Cup XVII (2022)

Sign-ups started today for the Altador Cup. Go HERE to sign up! If it doesn't show the map to sign up, hard refresh your page (ctrl + F5 or shift + F5, depending on your browser).
Some things of note:

This year, team sign-ups and practice starts on May 26th. The team sign-ups will last until end of day June 6th. This session is then followed by a two round tournament schedule that runs until July 3rd. The schedule consists of 2 game rounds with four practice days included.

*Be sure to join a team before sign-ups close end of day June 6th!
*Every win counts and adds to the overall score so be sure to play hard from Round 1, Day 1 itself!
*This year, there will also be four practice days within the tournament. The first two practice days will happen on the 7th day and the 14th day from Day 1 and the next two practice days will be before the Final Round begins. Practice days will occur when Round Robin and Final Round are not in session.

Basic Staff Tournament Info:

The Altador Cup Staff Tournament will begin on June 8th> and end on June 22nd. Results will be announced each Friday.
You'll be able to make changes to your team at any time until midnight (12:00 AM NST) each Friday. After that, you will not be able to make any more changes to your team until after the results are announced on Friday afternoon.
Once you've got a full team in the "Your Team" area, the "Choose This Team" button will activate and you can click it to finalise your team picks.
If you want to change your team, click on the "Change Team" button to make your new selections. If you want to keep your team as is the next week, press the "Keep Team" button.

I signed up last week with Roo, lest I forget. I was in a rush and gave it next to zero thought. Just went with the same as last year, but first made sure there was still a Lupe on the team

I'm actually ahead of my usual goals at this point. I have no clue how the rest of the cup will go, so I'm playing more than I usually would.

I made it to rank 8 last night. Didn't play anything but SOSD yesterday because I was busy getting the stamp from the app.

I independently picked the identical team to Pickles! But went with Miss Rainbow for star player.

Except I can't see any indication that my star player selection actually took? Is that normal? It worries me because of things like the obelisk clicking things not always working lately. It would be nice for there to be a line saying "You picked X as star player." Unless you guys have that line?

Current rank is 13. If I got my goal for tomorrow, I should make 15.

P.S. SOSD is easy to play on the phone. I can play it barely looking at it, so I can usually get half my games in at work. You do have to wait at least ten seconds before sending scores in any games, though. (I can't do MSN on my phone. I managed a 2-0 in YYB in my first try, but it's so buggy, if you can use a computer, it's much better.)

Star player is noted by a little gold star on their picture in the team roster you've picked. Very subtle, but it's there.

I made it to rank 10 plus a little yesterday. I did NOT want to stay on Rank 9 any longer than necessary - I think it's the ugliest rank combination there is. Yellow gem plus bronze? Bleh. I spent more time dealing with the Island Builders game over the last few days than I probably should've, or I might've gotten in some more extra games...but I didn't. I'm still ahead of track for making it to All Star, so I feel like I'm doing well this year. Better to be ahead than behind!

I'm doing AC solely on the computer. I don't even attempt to do Neo on my phone. It's too small.

Blue, you ought to aim for rank 1! There's usually a free NC item if you get that far.

Okay... so that's... times 4... carry the 7... ah! Given your chosen team's performance, you've earned yourself 5304 Neopoints!

Kikocat, Aesop, and Binary Supagoo pulled through. Senor Malo was in third, and Miss Rainbow was in 4th, so two newbies beat them out. I'm definitely dropping Miss Rainbow and replacing her with Dingo, but I think I'll keep Senor Malo and hope he pulls through next round. I chose Aesop as my star player for round 2.

Interface is a bit messier this year. You have to find your player in the top section to drop them, rather than just clicking on your roster. Not the easiest way to go.

I made it to rank 12 last night, and hopefully will hit rank 13 today. Almost halfway to All Star....
