The longest we've waited for plot prizes?

Now I know that as plots get more popular they get bigger and more people participate so there's more scores to tally, but WOW has it ever been a long wait on these prizes. As of next week it will be three months since the last stage of the plot was released (nov 20th).
This is getting a bit silly don't you think?

I've completely forgotten about anything Neopets. Haha. I kind of took a break after the Tale of Woe; mainly because of all the potions and such. Now I keep being reminded that prizes still need to be released.

Sadly some people on Neo say that the prizes may not come out until march....but at the rate things are going, I say sometime next century. XDD

I find it intrieguing, but in an annoying way.

My husband, who designs computer networks and websites for businesses says he's pretty certain there's no practical data based reason the prizes haven't come out yet. Which would mean that this delay is in some way specifically calculated on their part.

The question I've been mulling over then, my dear Watson, is why?

Are they trying to wait until it's nearly time to begin another plot? Is it something to do with the Neopian economy? Are they actually hoping some people WILL actually get fed up and leave before they come out, so that top level prizes can retain more value without throwing off the Neopian economy, given that more people each time are completing plots?

And given that Neopets makes money via ads and premium users, and that most everything in business is money-based, in what way would releasing them effect advertising revenue,etc? I'd think it would be a boon whenever it happens...

Ahhh, the ways in which I can waste time waiting for them...

I think they're working on the new neopets item cash shop they said they were releasing soon. Or maybe that the "easier" way to automate the process broke, and they have to do everything by hand again.

It's been three months--ninety-two days.
In two weeks it'll be the longest it's ever been for a plot.
Harrrgh.
The thing about the pageview graph, though, is that the immediate decline beginning with the new year probably has more to do with it being January than the lack of plot prizes. You see the same thing happen at the beginning of every year.

I agree with your point about page views going down every year after christmas. That said, page views are lower now than anytime in the past 5 years.

You don't email Neopets to say that the prizes are late, because actually they gave us a time they'd be out so, they are right on time and we are holding them to a priorestimate which really has no relevance to the current plot. Its not like they don't know people are complaining, the tale of woe is filled with that. No matter how much we tell them that they're annoying us, they wont get them done any faster. Give them a break.
