jfkimberly wrote:Meer & Redsrevenge... have you tried getting it closer than +/- 5? Try aiming for the exact value. On the third round Composite #2, they demand +/- 3. Maybe that's what it should have been all along?

Yes I finally got it! :D
Maybe it was that I needed to get closer to the mark. My requirement was 69 +/- 5 and I got it at 68.

Of coures, now I have to move on to the second part, which I do not understand at all! :(

Haha, word. XD Especially as I'm borderline kittens when it comes to math...XD

LOL! I love that phrase. Borderline kittens.. I think I'm that too. Maybe even completely kittens. XD

Ok I think I worked it out please let me know if im wrong

On the first composite of level #2 I need a target value of 45 so I started with two 8g's which total it upto 16g's which I need... I went upto +22 on one and +23 on the other totalling to +45 and when I created a new composite it only showed +22 o_O So do I need to make "Both" upto +45 making them a total of +80 so that when I create a new composite it halfs it to +45???

If that made sense to anyone your my new found friend lol

The composite is an average of your ingredients. So, getting both up to 45 would work, or simply letting one get really high and keep the other really low.

2 questions for round 2:

1/Do you have to throw your 2 composites into the cauldron AFTER you've created both of them, or one at a time?

2/Do you have to mind 'intermingling' property value a lot?

Example: I've got

Composite #1:

Quantity: 18 grams
Relevant property: Divination
Target value: +44 +/- 5

Composite #2:

Quantity: 25 grams
Relevant property: Power
Target value: +81 +/- 5

And my first composite is

Quantity: 18 grams
Divination: +43
Power: +4

Do I have to incalculate the Power property value of the first composite when creating my second composite? For example, were I to mix 4 ingredients, with properties 81, 81, 80, 82 - would I have to incalculate the Power property 4 from my first composite?

I'm really confused now. everyone is saying you have to get all your ingredients for both potions before throwing them in the cauldron -- but I can't make more than three! I don't have the 'create composition' button after I've got three little pictures down below!

You have to combine them instead of making individual composites.

Ex: Make a new composite with Ingredient 1. THEN click on that composite and hit Combine on the Ingredient 2 above you want to add.

Hope this helps!

Hm. This is very helpful. Also, I'm an idiot. I remember pondering the combine button, but thinking that it was probably the opposite of the split button.

Phew, I hope my luck will hold!
I had to make:
Composite #2:

Quantity: 12 grams
Relevant property: Power
Target value: +81 +/- 3
Relevant property: Enchantment
Target value: +79 +/- 3

I made:
Quantity: 12 grams
Conjuring: +74
Divination: +25
Enchantment: +81
Power: +76

Please let 76 be enough! I really hope we can figure out where that spectral stuff has to come from. I really have no clue right now. Guess I'll fiddle around with some ingridients and see what I get.

Do I hit combine on my first lot on composite #1 on level 2 before I start working on composite #2? or do I combine after I have #2?

Thu Nov 09, 2006 5:33 pm

okay trying to get these 3 gram deals to equal out into the 80's is driving me nuts.. I keep getting close but keep on missing it -laughs- I havent given up yet

In case people missed it:

Note the table at the bottom of
http://petpages.neopets.com/~SierraSea
It lists all the results of processing the ingredients. It appears that it's the same for everyone. (It worked for me.)

Given that, one should be able to generate a recepy for any requirement without having to do any experimenting.

Someone with more time than me can write a web page to do it for you.

If no one has by the time I get off work, I'll try to write it. (so 7-8 hours from now)
