21g Bloodfern - max Soak and Crush
2g Slorgblossom - max Burn and Crush

Once you have the 21g Bloodfern crushed and soaked to the max, you need to have a value of between 2 and 24 for conjuring for the 2g Slorgblossom. Soaking it to the max will give you 11. You don't need to do anything else to it to create the Spectral Essence.

You don't add them all together and then divide. Multiply each one by the number of grams. (like baggus 171*number of grams) Then add the results together (the answer you got after multipling each one) and divide by the total number of grams.

ooo i got the spectral essence by adding 18g of bloodfern, both crushed and soaked to the max, and 2g of leafy at 25 conjuring from crushing soaking and dessicating, but not all to the max.

[[edit]] this is suppossed to help those still trying to get their right formula for the spectral essence.

this is makin me cranky!

I keep trying and its giving me insane numbers -sobs-

You can probably do anything to it. I simply haven't tested. I was just finding it easy to get too high doing multiple things, and decided to see if I actually had to...

This makes me mad!!!

Miscellaneous Composition

Quantity: 23 grams
Conjuring: +275
Divination: +94
Enchantment: -58
Power: +131

Its not a spectral essence :( Used same ingrediants... 19 of one and 4 of the other.. grrrrr

Woohoo! Thanks to the tips on here I've made my second spectral essence.

Now to figure out this one:

Composite #3:

Quantity: 12 grams
Relevant property: Divination
Target value: +68 +/- 2
Relevant property: Power
Target value: +105 +/- 2

Edit: Composite 3 cannot contain more than 3 grams of any one basic ingredient.

Well at least I know I need 4 ingredients!

My latest theory (again, only what I am assuming ... and only a theory) ...

Spectral Essence is defined as having no stat less less than 0.
Spectral Essence must have a power greater than 400 to work.
This particular spectral essence needed conjuring of +275 +/- 1

and I did manage to create my 23 grams of spectral essence:

Spectral Essence

Quantity: 23 grams
Conjuring: +275
Divination: +31
Enchantment: +2
Power: +412

All stats are positive, and power is above 400. Might want to consider this when making yours, perhaps.

okay star

I am pulling my hair out.. can I transplant myself into yer brain to find exactally what ya did? purty please? -flutter-

Quantity: 12 grams
Relevant property: Power
Target value: +68 +/- 2
Relevant property: Conjuring
Target value: +104 +/- 2

I got the list of ingredients evanstar used but nothing I do is making them come out properly. If anyone can shove me into the right direction I'd be much thrilled and grateful

Spectral Essence

Quantity: 23 grams
Conjuring: +275
Divination: +52
Enchantment: -2
Power: +370

My power isn't above 400 and I have a negative number. I just followed evenstar's directions from page 2...

3g Leafy Slorgblossom
MAX Crush
MAX Soak
MAX Dry

10g Bloodfern Loam
MAX Crush
Soak (until it goes down to 311)

10g Bloodfern Loam
MAX Crush
Soak (until it goes down to 311)

*If you were paying attention to the crushing, I suppose you could stop it at the 311 point instead of maxing?

Looks like my theory was wrong, then. :)

It was worth a shot, at least. Don't know why some people are unable to make it, then.

Good luck!

krivone wrote:Hm, I did the same, only my I maxed the bloodfern(21g) with crush and soak. And then I took 2g of slorgblossom and only upped the conjuring to +14. then I first added the blood fern and then last the slorgblossom. Not sure if the order counts. had 275 balance.

I think the order may count? That seems to be the only thing I did different this time. I just added the Slorgblossom last. Huh. Pft. Geez. :P

I also had a 275 balance.

Spectral Essence
Quantity: 23 grams
Conjuring: +275
Divination: +40
Enchantment: +2
Power: +402

EDIT: Oh, no, wait. I am so tired. I did also max out on Crushing and Soaking the Loam this time. That was tedious.

I hope they intend to release the clue for anti-gravitic goo tomorrow...

Fri Nov 10, 2006 9:19 am

Order doesn't matter... I put my blossom in first and then my loam.

I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but crushed jurpleberries are very useful when doing compounds that require two sorts of properties.

My tip:
Focus on one property at a time (like Divination) and once you have that perfected use the jurpleberrries to raise or lower the amount you need for the second one - because each thing you do to the jurpleberry only raises one stat at a time.

Edit: Finally finished my compound for part 4 - now to work on that darned goo - maybe if we held Sophie upside down over her cauldron she'd be more forthcoming with clues.
