I know this may be petty but, my norton internet security is not letting the new top bar in neopets show the links to games etc. If i disable my internet security then the graphics show up. when it's activated, all i get is a big black line across the top of my screen.
my internet security also stops me from abandoning pets at the pound
(i take pets in, fix em with the lab and let them go again)
- i have to temporarily disable my security to disown the pet
- petty yes but frustrating....

any suggestions??

thanks

Well, I think that Norton Personal Firewall is the problem. Open up norton, and click on the NPF tab. Turn off privacy controls or something. You'll lose some privacy, but if you want...

For the black bar: The flash ad is embedded in a <div> with a black background. I think the black background is there to just annoy you. I don't know what you can do about that... unless you disable css (which will disable you from some other content). It's worth a try. :)

Hmm, well I don't have Norton, so this is just guessing, ok? If you go into your settings for your firewall, there is a place to add a specific url, isn't there? I'm wondering if you could type in the url for the pound if that would allow you to get there without having to turn your security off.

The topbanner doesn't show? For me that would be a huge benefit! I'd rather see a black rectangle than the flash ads

My advice is get some decent protection. Norton has repeatedly been proven to be pants. Upgrade to Panda antivirus, or something similar, you can get panda free for a year from there website.

I think I'm having probs with my norton too. But I never started having problems until early last week. Whenever I try to post something at the Subeta forums, 99% of the time I get a "you have been directed here from the wrong place" message. And the same thing basically happens when I try to take np out of the bank at Neo. But I opened my norton and I couldn't find any firewall tab so I don't know what to do.

I had the same problem with my Norton World Anti-virus. I hate Norton, especially those one-week automatic scans that pop up when I'm usually doing something important. Just disable it. That's what I do. Who cares about protection? If you really need to then just enable it when you go off Neo. I'm sure that Neo won't let its LOYAL players get viruses from their site. ;)

You can get Panda AV free for a year off there site. I would advise getting that.

1. I downloaded Panda and just installed it. You don't get it for a year, just 30 days. And before you say anything, yes I uninstalled my norton first

2. It didn't work. I'm still getting those "you have been directed here from the wrong place" messages.

If you have Norton Internet Security with your Norton Anti-Virus, double click on the icon in your taskbar (looks like a little blue and green circle) and turn Ad Blocking off and voila, the banners will show up.

I didn't have that with my norton. My norton was just a 3 month trial thing that came with my new computer. And I never started having the problems I stated above until like 2 weeks ago, and I have no idea why. I've removed all of Norton from my computer (it was going to run out in about 5 days anyways) and installed the trial of Panda instead. I've re installed my Firefox browser to see if that helped....nothin. I just wish I knew what the heck was wrong.
