RB5X: The Intelligent Robot

Tue Sep 21, 2004 3:11 am

At my high school, I am in "Advanced technology" second period. My job I've picked this year is programming the RB5X robot with TinyBasic. It can do various things, such as sense obstacles with bumpers and sonar, use a highly mobile arm to carry a variety of objects with its tough grip, and even vacuum floors with a special attachment--You can teach it to speak in any language, also; you just need to program the syllablery.

Has anyone else had any similar experiences with robotics technology? I'm interested in sharing stories, etc.

the only robot i've ever "programmed" is the lego mindstorm one. Anyway, have you ever programmed anything else like that? Or is this your first attempt?

My brother is currently programming PICS in Assembler but thats nothing compared to a robot...

Well...

No, I've done Mindstorms before. This is a new challenge for me, but I've known BASIC for a long time and TinyBasic is very, very similar.
