Firefox Question

Thu Feb 17, 2005 10:39 pm

I recently went to Firefox, because of the Neo ads. I've only got one problem with it...I can't play Shockwave games. Does Firefox just not support Shockwave yet, or is this a problem on my end?

I just switched over, too... To fix that, I clicked on the "click to download plugin" thing, and it downloaded the newest version of shockwave for me. Works like a charm, now. Although, I'm still having trouble blocking the upper and lower Neopets ads...

Alternatively, you can download the installer from the Macromedia site. The file is called "shockwave_full.exe". After you get it, when it prompts you where to install, go to the folder Firefox is installed in, look for the "Plugins" directory and select it. Reboot the computer and you are good to go. :)

Ok, thanks! :D

Edit:

Ugh....still doesn't work. I tried installing it to the plugins folder, nothing. Uninstalled it, and tried to open Attack of the Slorgs so I'd get the popup saying I needed it. Tried installing it that way...nothing.

It just shows a blank white screen....I don't get it.

To block the ads, I suggest going to http://updates.mozilla.org and installing the 'Adblock' extension. You can manually choose what ads/frames to block. :)

yeah, that is the best extension for Firefox IMO. Adfree sites = quicker load times (even on DSL) and nicer looking sites. :D
