Got an E! Wanted an O, but it's still a good grade!

Nothing to compare to, though, as I missed the first WOMBAT. :(

can't find the sig from this set, so instead, you get a <3 .

I also got an E. Huh. I don't know what others I missed, but I must have missed that one about which creature the Ministry considers the greatest threat. I mean, obviously, it's not hags, because they hang around in pubs, and it's not Inferi, or the Ministry would acknowledge their existence, but between dementors, vampires and werewolves, I had no idea. I mean, dementors would be rational, but the Ministry had been buddy-buddy with them for a very long time, and they might not have totally reworked that department. Not much is known about vampires, but I get the impression from GoF that the laws on vampires are very stringent, but poorly enforced.

I decided on werewolves for the irony potential, but that may not have been wise.

Yeah, I'm disappointed, as I got an O last time.

Anyway, I was just reading GoF, and there appears to be a feeling of deep unease about the Riddle House similar to that of Grimmauld Place. Well, we know the Riddle House is linked up with Voldemort's past, and The Locket was almost certainly in Grimmauld Place... maybe Frank Bryce is a dodge, eh? (Of course, if the folks who bought the Riddle House and moved out because of the unsettling aura moved in when Riddle was still in school, we can nix that, but the time is left vague...)

Hm... I don't remember what I answered on that question, but I think I chose Inferi. Because Dementors are the Ministry's pets, and they always understimated their danger. Vampires, hags and werewolves are regulated (and they treat werewolves in St. Mungo too, I remember the man Lupin talked to... if he was considered too dangerous, he would have been put into some prison I think).
The position of the Ministry towards Inferi is not too clear, but it seemed to me that they could be dangerous, so I went with that.

The locations of the other Horcruxes is probably the key point of book 7, so I think Rowling hasn't given us all clues, more will be handed out during book 7. However, I follow the popular theory of "Mundungus stole the locket and sold it on the black market" :P mainly because it would be fun to see Harry walk down Knockturn Alley again looking for it in dark magic shops.

THE TITLE HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED!!!

I really wish this forum had a spoiler tag. As it is, I'm just doing the mini-font trick. The door on JKR .com's still open, you can find out there if you like.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows! Leaves a much better first impression than Half-Blood Prince, too. I'm thinking it's Voldemort's hideout, but who knows?

Not a fan of the title, really.

Who knows, it might grow on me. We'll see.

I actually love the title. It just has a better ring to it than "Half-Blood Prince" did, IMHO.

HPatDH. I like it. Cheers for the early present, Mrs. Rowling! :D

Yay for a reason to revive the topic.

Though, my first reaction when I read it was "Harry Potter and WHAT?!"
Then I got my dictionary off its shelf and looked it up. If she had 3 titles to choose from, I would have probably liked it best if she picked another one :P

I'm not crazy about the title either. Part of me likes it because it just sounds evil and scary, but another part of me is kind of nervous because goody two shoes people out there who have never read Harry Potter and have no idea what it is about are going to probably have a field day anaylyzing this.

"Deathly Hallows" that sounds evil...I don't want my kids to read this..it sounds satanic..Harry Potter is evil and this title just proves it....

That is what they will say probably. And they have no idea about anything, but they will just say that based on the title.

People who have never even read the book think is a book that says "Worship Satan, kill a chicken and put the blood in a bowl and draw a pentagram with blood and dance around naked and howl at the moon." or something. They haven't even read the book but they want to act like they know all about it. I mean, this title is just kind of asking for trouble I think.

Seriously - who doesn't know Harry Potter :P

Even so they won't get far in their "analysing" because everyone else would just look at them and tell them to shut up :P

Ugh. I can officically say that I HATE the title. It sounds so...disgustingly cheesy wannabe-creepy. Ya know? The first thing that came into my head was "The Berentstein Bears and..."

Ugh. Maybe it will grow on me. I can pray.

I hate the title too. It just doesn't sound right. I wouldn't care if she just announced it was all a joke.

But anyway

Hallow=Saints

As in All Hallow Eve=All Saint's Day

Or it could mean Souls like All Souls Day.

But anyway, I think Hallows refers to dead people. Dead Good People.
Or martyrs.

If they are deathly dead people then I think they are at least deathly to Voldemort, but not to Harry. I think Voldemort will be killed with a combonation of love and memories or love and the revenge of all the people he ever killed.

I don't know how it would happen but maybe if Harry and Voldemorts wands connect again it can happen if all the memories of the dead people just rush in on Voldemort.

And she's considering appealing to the Supreme Court too. So yeah, there's the satanic part too

I think either Hallows refers to either Halloween or to hallowed places. If it's Halloween, it would be the first one mentioned in the book--the night Harry's parents were killed. That explains the "deathly" part, and it's encouraging to think that perhaps we'll find out more about Lily's sacrifice, and why Voldemort gave her a chance to survive.
If it's hallowed places, I think that would be either Hogwarts, other magically important locations, or the locations of the remaining Horcruxes--or maybe some combination of those places.
