What are some GOOD all girl bands, not groups, but bands, with instruments?
I'm curious, as I plan to start playing bass soon.

I prefer boy bands... Though I still love the Spice Girls.

Like Igg mentioned before, Girl Bands don't really ever turn out as well as Guy bands do.

Two bands with one female and male you MIGHT like are: Dresden Dolls (Female Vocalist, Keyboard; Male Drums) and Mates of State (Both Vocals; Female Guitar; Male Drums)

Other bands, I'm not really fond of, but are there, are The Donnas and Kittie. One's New Rock and the other's Metal.

Good luck, though.

No Secrets, Play, Kittie, 99's (used to be Devotchkas), Lillix, Dream, Destiny's Child, Sahara Hotnights, Halo Friendlies.

Looking back at old topics does someone good.

As Dawn said, Lillix and No Secrets are good. I listen to a LOT of Japanese music, and most of it is girl bands :p

They aren't always bad....

You're my new favourite.

Although I usually dislike it when girls are just thrown together, it can be worse when they're chucked on stage with a bass in their hand as a novelty (Talking Heads being the exception)

If you don't mind doing your homework, check up on the High School Sweethearts or Les Hell on Heels. Garage Rock at its finest. I hate the term girl band, fyi. But these are awesome bands that just happen to be comprised of all girls.

The Boredoms have a good female vocalist, but no one's ever heard of them. :P

The Devotchkas are pretty much the only good all-female band I can think of. I tend to dislike most bands that are all female because their music is usually about how females are opressed in the music industry and blah blah blah. (Note the use of the word USUALLY.)

Just watch her have a massive break up and get it all back.

Well, not all of it. Once she got that damn pixie cut... >.>
