I don't think they've broken up. I was under the impression that this was just a solo project for Gwen on top of being in the band. Like what Destiny's Child did.

I read an interview thingy with Gwen, and she said that No Doubt were only taking a break, whilst she got the "solo stuff" out of her system. Or something like that. If they had broken up, the news would probably be everywhere, or I would have heard it at least. Unless they're doing what the Spice Girls did, and never officially announced their split, it just kinda happened. :/

I'm pretty (close to very) sure that they haven't split up. For one thing, Tony Kanal of the band was helping Gwen out with the album.
