I second that motion. :D

I've been known to be very *ahem* forward with my opinions when it comes to music. Boy, does it ever get me into trouble with adoring fans.

I'd assume that it's quite a hilarious sight to see, a teenage girl pummeled by a seemingly endless supply of anti-teeny bopper wannabes.

I just can't wait for it to be out :D
I think I should buy Fallen too. I heard it once(borrowed from friend) and it became one of my favourite bands.

Hey, all hail the linkin park and evanescence bashers. </sarcasm>

If they don't include Lies and Before the Dawn then I shall be v.v.v.v.v.v.v.maaaaad!

Ammer wrote:Amy Lee and others are currently writing music/songs for their upcoming album (No Name Yet). It apparently is going towards a spooky direction as Amy Lee said after watching Van Helsing. That means more songs near 'Haunted' and 'My Tourniquet'. It's more 'darker' than Fallen, which I am excited about.

What do you guys think of the recent news? Predictions of any sort?

Good, no more My Immortal crap. Even though Van Helsing was ahorrible movie, lets hope the songs are better then that.

Oh yes, bow down to our supreme awesomeness. :P

I just don't understand the appeal of them, though.
I mean, for all of the exposure they're getting in the world, and for what?!
Producing a bunch of cookie cutter lyrics and chord progressions, and topping that all off with a "hardcore" we don't give a smurf attitude.

I'm glad there are going to be more songs like "Tourniquet" that's my favourite song on the album. I listen to it when I'm edgy. I'll have to listen to it on Monday. I hate the 12th,.

Yay! I love Amy Lee's voice. What is it? Like opera-ish? Dunno, but I love it.

I do like Evanescence very much. Fallen is one of my few cds that I actually enjoy every song on it. Despite the whole,,, "gothic" thing? bah who cares, if u like it, u like it!

lol, ne way, yay! Can't wait!

I'm weird though. I don't typically listen to music because of the way it sounds. What usually makes me like a song is whether or not I like the lyrics. I like songs of all different genres and styles.
I like Evanescence because of the lyrics. Someone once was telling me about some other group that they thought I would like, they said "They sound like Evanescence, you'll love them." I said "I don't like Evanescence because of the way they sound, I like what the songs are about."
I don't like Tourniquet as much as I used to, maybe I just overplayed it, maybe it just doesn't speak to me as much, but I LOVE Haunted, it's still my second favourite Evanescence song (Whisper is still my favourite).
To put it this way, take the lyrics of Whisper, have them sung by a most unlikely source: Eminem. I'd still like them.

I can put that song on repeat for 2 hours and not get tired of it. It's like me and Hey Ya....I love that song I never get tired of it.

If your actually 'bashing' them than here is my reply:

Evanescence has wonderful meanings in each of their songs so saying it's 'cookie clutter' is false. Their songs give out a message and a good one at that. And they don't ever act like 'they don't give a smurf about anything'. By saying that you don't know how much the band cares about their fans and music. Their songs don't display that type of attitude at all either. Name one song that does.

Demonish's description sounded more like Linkin' Park to me.

I do think that people think songs have wonderful meanings or whatever because they think that's what they're supposed to think.

Blargh. Didn't that make a lot of sense :P Lots of the word 'think'. Linkin' Park and Evanescence, to me, are like that rubbish teenage poetry written by people who think they're depressed because a lad was mean to them once, put to archetype chord progressions and wearing 'rawk' clothes.

Well that was a major stereotype.

I couldn't really agree or disagree seeing as I have only heard 'Numb'. My friend played a song to me of Linkin Park and I thought it was 'Numb' but it wasn't. He said it's another song with the same sort of music. They used the same tone as Numb.
