The follow-up could be delayed till March according to this site:

http://www.hardplace.de/evanescence/

It's German though... but there haven't been any official varifications.

Evanescence Eyeing Late-2005 Release for New Album
Wed Jan 5, 2005 12:44 AM ET
By Melinda Newman

LOS ANGELES (Billboard) - Evanescence singer Amy Lee hopes to have a follow up to the goth-rock group's two-year-old mega-hit "Fallen" in stores by the end of the year.

"I knew it was going to take a while, and it is. We're obviously taking longer than the average band," she told Billboard recently.

"Fallen," released in March 2003, has sold 6 million copies in the United States alone, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Last February, the band won two Grammys, for best new artist and hard rock performance.

In addition to writing individually, the members have done a little collaborating, Lee said.

"I started working with (guitar player) Terry Balsalmo, only for about 10 days. I taught myself Pro Tools, and we started recording. I was engineering, and it was really cool. He brings something totally different to the table; that's what I was hoping for." Balsalmo replaced co-founder Ben Moody, who left the band in late 2003.

Lee wouldn't reveal much about the new tunes, but added, "Trust me, it still sounds like Evanescence, but you can't just keep making the same music. We're still in the beginning stages. I don't know when we're going into the studio. Nothing's scheduled."

While she loved No Doubt frontwoman Gwen Stefani's recently released debut solo album, she did not ever see herself going that route.

"I get to express myself completely in Evanescence, so there isn't any reason to do a solo project. If I said, 'I want to stop Evanescence for a while and do something different,' it would be something totally different. I would become a painter or go into social work or write scores for movies or be a choir teacher. I really want to write choir music and teach a college choir."

There has also been a settlement for the lawsuit over the "Anywhere But Home" DVD. Here is an article explaining it,

Proposed Settlement Offers Refunds To Md. Wal-Mart Shoppers

POSTED: 5:46 am EDT July 29, 2005
UPDATED: 11:13 am EDT July 29, 2005

HAGERSTOWN, Md. -- People who bought Evanescence's album "Anywhere But Home" at any Maryland Wal-Mart store last year would be entitled to a refund from Sony BMG Music Entertainment under a proposed settlement in a lawsuit that claims the album contained explicit lyrics but didn't carry a parental advisory sticker.

The proposed settlement hasn't yet been approved by a judge in Washington County Circuit Court, where the complaint was filed, a clerk said Thursday.

Under the terms of the deal, New York-based Sony BMG and its Wind-Up Records subsidiary would be dropped from the lawsuit filed last year by Trevin and Melanie Skeens, of Brownsville, according to a joint statement. The Skeens' would continue to press their complaint against Wal-Mart, the other defendant in the lawsuit.

The Skeens' lawsuit, filed in December, seeks an order requiring Wal-Mart, of Bentonville, Ark., to either censure or remove the music from its Maryland stores. It also seeks damages of up to $74,500 for each of the thousands of people who bought the music at Wal-Marts in Maryland.

The refund offer would apply to consumers who bought the album from a Maryland Wal-Mart before January 1, 2005. The album was released in 2004. Those seeking a refund would have to send the record company a copy of the sales receipt or credit card charge slip showing the purchase price, date of purchase and location of the store at which the purchase was made.

Yeah, I read that article about Anywhere but Home too... it's a bit sad they're still against it, really.

And in a recent interview, Shaun Morgan of Seether talked about Evanescence's new album. Right now, they have written 14 new songs and will start recording in three weeks. They'll probably take a couple of months to record it and he even said himself that the new album will be out in March. Even Sony Italy has verified that the new album would be out in March, and they're the ones that said that the new album would be out in November.

Oh well. If the songs are awesome then it's worth the wait; we don't want another Fallen, do we?

Well, Fallen wasn't a horrible album but I suppose you're saying we don't want the same style of songs as on Fallen?

I, personally, wouldn't mind but I like the fact that they're taking a new spin on the new album. I can't wait.

the Parental advisory sticker isnt legally binding?
in that, they arent bound to put one on the case if there are explicit lyrics.
there was a huge campaign about it "back in the day" and it is only advisory now!

They have now officially begun recording, according to Evboard.com. :D

---

There is a rumour that EMI, home to such bands as A Perfect Circle, may be buying Wind-Up Records, the label to such bands like 12 Stones, Creed, Seether, Evanescence, and more. More info here:

Okay, I have to admit that this thread is really really long so i didn't have time to read it all, and if I'm leaving something important out that you wanna know, say so. I'll check back.
1. Will is working with a band on a side project, Rocky and John are also working on a side project (mourningside), and John also told me about some writing he's doing with a really cool artist (i dont know if i can say who- i dont want to mess it up)- HOWEVER, no one is leaving evanescence.
2. Terry and I have done most of the writing ourselves. I AM a woman of my word, and I know I said I wanted us all to be equal writers on this album, but I have a vision and I love this band too much to sacrifice anything. We all write differently- some things work for evanescence and some things don't. Thats why I've been nothing but encouraging about all of the side-project creativity. We ARE all artists, and one way or another, we are all writing music right now.
3. We are scheduled to go in the studio and begin recording the new album in 3 weeks. . . and I CANT FREAKING WAIT. I'm as restless as you are and dying for you to hear this stuff.
4. We will be done recording and mixing by the end of the year, and I wanted that to mean a December release, but there's alot of press, promotion and work that has to be done, so it won't be on the shelves until March. (That doesn't mean you won't be hearing a single before then, remember. You always hit radio first.)
5. I am more proud of and in love with this new music than anything I've ever been a part of making- including fallen. It is heavy, creative, soulful, sexy, and different- but it is still, naturally, evanescence. (And no, we didn't go so left field that you're not gonna get it.)
6. I love you guys, and I know the negativity is coming from alot of anticipation and anxiety for our new music- I'm so lucky that anyone cares. But seriously, stop worrying. I wont let you down... You think your'e into this band? -its my whole life.

You're right, she did post something but it's still in three weeks.

Either way Tyrannitar, this is awesome news.
