I like a lot of bands that are not around any more like Beatles. I wish they were still playing and the boy "band" stuff never was invented.
A lot of people at my school like Bon Jovi.

See, what is so great about "older" music, is that is has held up the test of time.

I mean, anything that has survived this long (for musicianship, not controversy) has got to be quality music.

And the only real "punk" bands, the music I listen to, started in the seventies.

I'm unimpressed by a lot of modern music. It seems like image has a HUGE todo with the industry now. suck.

Thank you. Comparing some of today's "punk" to the Sex Pistols, the Ramones, the Clash, or even Blondie is almost sacreligious.

Some of today's bands I don't think should be classified as punk at all. They fall under pop, rock, or metal. There is so little actual punk music.

It's always great to have some older stuff in your collection. Although I'm not so much a fan of the late 70s metal and hard rock, the late 60s are an entirely different matter. Bands like The Beach Boys and some Beatles are just so happy and optimistic; solo artists, such as old school Elton John, are just plain cool. 8) Of course, one could name drop great artists for hours (The Zombies, The Kinks, Simon & Garfunkel, etc.), but the point is understandable pretty quickly.

Oh, and I'm going through a somewhat humiliating disco phrase, and Peaches and Herb is always a good choice there. The seventies were a period of great music phase as well; Pink Floyd, Billy Joel and The Clash are my favories from then.

As for the eighties...old school Madonna, Sonic Youth, Beastie Boys, Violent Femmes and Blondie get my biggest thumbs up.

I quite like a lot of the older music (which is being brought back 'revamped' lol. Musicians are running out of ideas! heh), such as the Beatles, Prince, and others. Some people don't like it, but I don't see why not. I think that they were very creative back then. The BGs, Eagles, Leonard Cohen, Jackson Brown... Pink Floyd(although that's still quite popular) yeah, all great musicians/bands^_^

Taha. I listen to old music. Reeeally old music.

As for newer old music, I like the Beatles. They're so wholesomely happy.
