i just bought dead and dreaming: an indie tribute to counting crows. it's worth buying just for punchline's version of "round here." it truly rocks. also notable is boys night out's cover of "walkaways," which is extended by being sung twice, which works incredibly well.

most of the songs are pretty much slightly altered versions of the original, so similar that i can still sing along. a little disappointing because if you're going to do a cover, i feel like you should make the song your own on some level, to make it new and interesting to the fans of the song.

but it's still very much worth a listen, especially for hardcore CC fans such as myself.

anybody else hear this CD?

I didn't even know this CD existed. I'll look into it for my mom. She's a big Counting Crows fan. Actually, we saw them in concert with John Mayer last year.

Now if only I knew that before Christmas.

I've been looking for it at the local HMV lately. It hasn't showed up and I haven't found it online either(not saying much, since Im to lazy to actually buy anything online).
