We Will Rock You! - The Musical

Tue Jul 27, 2004 7:12 pm

Following the success of the well-known band "Queen", a musical, called We Will Rock You has opened up in London, in the Dominion Theatre. And, as a treat, I will be going there tomorrow, despite my reluctance about the music...

So, what do people think its like, and considering I've never even heard any Queen music before, what is it like, and do you think I'd like it?

I know its a difficult question to answer, because you don't know me, but I'm curious

Matt

I would love to be in your shoes right now. Queen. Rocks. I think you'll love it; who couldn't? Have fun!

I envy you SO. MUCH. I'd totally see that.

This will be perhaps the greatest rock-oriented musical not named "Rent" ever, just because of the music.

I'm going to see it on 23rd August, hope it's decent.

hey, wanna switch places? I would LOVE to go and see that. And when I was dragged to see Mama Mia, I thought it would be boring. But it was absolutly fantastic. And that was with the reserves!

I'm surprised that you've never heard any of Queen's music before. Queen is/was an amazing band. They had a style all their own. I think the show should be enjoyable, even if you don't know what the songs are.

Thanks to all of your, fair to say, poor offers, however, no.
It's not just the fact that we're going to see "We Will Rock You!" that I'm excited, its the whole feeling. We often go into London, we've seen many shows, and we love it. We go round the book shops down Charing Cross Road, we go to Leicster Square, and eat lunch whilst avoiding pigeon barrages anf we go to Covent Garden, its a brilliant time.

Thanks for the encouragement, I think I actually feel good about going to see it know, it sounds quite good, though the storyline seems a bit odd :P

I'll report back tomorrow about what its like :)

I found out this year who Queen was and I have never heard any of their songs. Odd.

Gah, how can you not know who Queen is? Yet alone not have heard one of their songs.. >.< {Although, this isn't as bad as the child who tried to convince me that Queen was stealing The Darkness' style. o.O}

I have heard of Queen, yes, but never one of their songs, I was told that they were similar to the darkness, and if that's the case, it should be an okay evening :)

Tue Jul 27, 2004 11:19 pm

Actually, The Darkness is nothing compared to Queen. ;P

Darkness is a good band, I like them, so according to you, this is going to be brilliant :)

I'm only going on what my friend said - that they were the same style, I never said anything about quality, still older songs are often better, so, I am actually quite optimistic for the first time in my life.

Well I can't stand Queen and I don't think that the Darkness are like Queen.
