So I'm at band camp this week... It's fun. I'm in the syphonic band, on flute. I wanted to do orchestra but I didn't make it. So I have musicianship, leadership, and masterclasses. Plus some private lessons. It's great fun though. Share your camp experiences!

I didn't go last year because I didn't sign up for band until after it happened, but by the looks of the band camp video it seemed... interesting.

Four years of band camp....marching band camp.
Band Camp was like....a mix of heaven and hell. Some of my fondest memories come from camp...but it's like...band boot camp. Your on your feet for most of the day...10 hours for marching and we stand during the additional instrumental practice too.
I haven't been there in years but just yesterday I got on staff so I'm going again this year.

I'll be in band camp during August. It's not really a camp, just six hours worth of practice at the school.

This is more of a concert band camp. There's orchestra, choir, harp, color guard, marching percussion, and drum major too. And with band and choir there's the respective jazz ensembles. And musical theater. So it's pretty big. I keep misplacing my keys and then finding them around my neck.
There was a faculty recital last night, and their big finale was a piece by P.D.Q. Bach. The first of four folk unsettings for mezzanine soprano and scheilgehorn (?).

I love band camp
Its so much fun, I haven't gone to the one up at Texas Tech in a few years. We got marching band camp at the school soon so I'll be lookin like a geek with my band tan w00t! (by the way, band tan = tan from shirt sleeves down and shorts down, tan line on your ankles and being pale every where else haha)

Ours is from 8am - 8 pm. We're probably going to do 8am - 11am outside. Have sectionals for an hour, have lunch and then have more sections and then back out side till the end. Oh well, it pays off
