Party Songs

Sat Jul 09, 2005 11:49 pm

What are some good party songs. I am planning to throw a party, and I need some good music. I need music that is also easy to dance to.

Also, what are your favourite party songs, and have you had any funny/good/bad experiences with Party Songs, like, did your crush see you dancing horribly to the Hampster Dance, or maybe you won something for your mad dancing skillz?

I may be alone in this, but I always start dancing in the computer chair when "Video Killed the Radio Star" by Radiohead comes on.

But then again, I'm weird.

Nope, you're not alone, but then again, I dance at almost every dancable song.

Hmmm... I wonder if Dancable is a word...

I also wonder if it's spelled Danceable or Dancable.

Alot of the Black Eyed Peas songs would be pretty good party songs I reckon. Especially Pump It :). Possibly jpop? Techno and House music wouldn't hurt either.

Depends what kind of party you're going for. If you want to inspire a mad sing-a-long go with Bohemain Rhapsody. If you want everybody to sit around in a hormonal gloom go with your regular pop/emo apathy-rock. I say you want a rocking good time, do what I do and throw on some Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass!

No party is complete without 'Me and Julio down by the Schoolyard'.

Cheesy songs are good to dance to, like many of the more well known queen songs etc

This is a 13 Year Old Dance Party, so, Thanks Ammer. :P

I'll dance to anything, haha. Um... one of my most memorable parties was one where three lads were singing to Bohemian Rhapsody on the kareoke machine. We all surprised by one of them who got the high notes surprisingly well. o_O Anyway, that's a good one to dance to and it's a classic so everyone will know it.

Oh and don't just stick to the same genre. I loathe R n B and kiddy punk type bands so I sit down out of principle when they come on. "Kicking Pigeons" by Spunge is hilarious to dance to. We usually end up doing a mad kind of conga thing.

Also, to take the mick, put on some really cheesy dance songs like the YMCA, the Macarena and the Conga at the end when everyone's on the dance floor anyway so just joins in to have a laugh. It's always good to have a giggle. Just make sure no one takes you seriously. :P

EDIT: Oh and Queen! Lots and lots of Queen. For example, Don't Stop Me Now, I love jiggling about to it, play it just for me!

Uh, if you know a good place to download Japanese/Anime music

Ready Steady Go - L'arc-en-Ciel
New World - Round Table
Sono Saki no Justice - Horie Yui
Hagane no Kokoro - Paku Romi
Tasogare no Umi - See-Saw
Rewrite - Asian Kung-Fu Generation
Skirt - Chara
Pretty much anything by Puffy AmiYumi (if you can stand them for more than 5 seconds:p)
Yumegiwa Last Boy - Supercar
I'll Be the One - Satou Atsushi
Exit --> Running - Megumi Hayashibara
Spirit Dreams Inside - L'arc-en-Ciel
Tooku Made - Do As Infinity
Over Soul - Megumi Hayashibara
Northern Lights - Megumi Hayashibara

This is what I normally put on for my parties....It doesn't appeal to everyone, but if you want some really energetic, crazy stuff....-shrug-

Oh, and we do lip-synching all the time. It's REALLY funny because none of us know Japanese x)

Er. If you're making fun of me for missing the space in between Radio and Head, then no, I'm not sure. :P

But otherwise... yes?

I hate to be a bugger on this one too, especially since its not my forte but I'm pretty sure Radiohead never covered it. The dudes from Yes got together before there was a Yes and made the song as The Buggles. Then it got a pretty decent cover from the Presidents of the United States of America. Are you taking this off a CD or some crazy bootleg or just bad info off of Kazaa. If it is a bootleg, hook me up because I wouldn't mind hearing it, although it doesn't quite seem like Thom Yorke's cup o' tea.
