I don't want to sound rude but 'Duh'. If you're a singer/actor/etc... and you want to make more money, you'll try and go into another type of business. Lindsay Lohan, Hilary Duff, Ashlee Simpson, P. Diddy, etc... all of these people are trying to make more money and it's working for them. Do not sit there and tell me you wouldn't go into acting/singing/designing if you could make more money. I would.

I wouldn't unless i'm positive i'll be good at it when i jump to that different genre. I'm not just going to do it for the money. If i was going to do it, it would because i would hope to impact whatever business i was going to. Not just for the hell of it to add to my money mountain.

I think it's her movements that reminds me of Britney.

Probably because "Overprotected" And "Rumors" have the same point.
Overprotected = britney spears, its about 2 or 3 years old.
Rumors = Lindsay Lohan, this year.

So what does that say for musical movies like Chicago, Moulin Rouge, Grease etc where both acting AND singing are a requirement? ;)

I think the difference here is... we don't see Nicole Kidman and Richard Gere and the rest of them releasing pop albums.
Grease aside, John Travolta tried so hard to be a singer, but everyone wanted to see him acting instead. And Olivia Newton-John did have a singing career.
Some musical movies with big name stars don't have the stars singing at all, rather they're lipsynching prerecorded tracks by professional singers. Which is fine.
Not every good actor is going to be a good singer. And vice versa. Madonna's one of my favourite singers, but she's not a very good actress. Luckily she doesn't try to be very often. She did wonderfully in Evita, but then again, it was really just a two and a half hour long music video. Antonio Banderas did great as a singer for that movie, but I would rather not see him with a singing career. I wouldn't mind seeing him in more musicals though.
I think it's fine for people to act and sing both... when it's called for. It bothers me when these people that are great actors suddenly decide that they can sing. Even if they're no good at it, they still make money because they already have a following.

...I'm sorry, but I miss Lindsay Lohan from the Parent Trap. All those years ago.

I just can't stand it now. Everybody thinks they can sing.

Yes'm! See, I totally miss those days.... She was so cute... and now, as I watch the director commentary on the Mean Girls DVD, he says that she hated her outfits at the beginning of the movie, and couldn't wait to get into the nastier dresses/skirts/whatever. Ugh. That really makes me sick.
