ok, there are many films that are supposedly classics that everyone should have seen. Some of these films are terrible, but most are really good. However, you know know of these films until somwbody goes "OMG you've not seen that film???!??!?!?!onety!!!!1111!"

Some examples, compiled by me and zorg are:
~ Casablanca
~ Gone with the wind
~ Fight Club
~ It's a wonderful life
~ Citizen cane

Any more?

Generally confirmed 'Classics' everyone should see:

Logans Run
Full Metal Jacket
Clockwork Orange
Lawrence of Arabia
Schindlers List
Star Wars
Dr. Strangelove
Doctor Zhivago
The Shawshank Redemption

Things I think are classics that everyone should see:

Amelie
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind
Tank Girl
Bill & Teds Excellent Adventure
Being John Malkovich

Rageaholic and I recently decided that if you haven't seen Back To The Future and The Karate Kid, then there's something wrong with you.

I think everyone should see The Color Purple. But I just think that's a great movie.

Everyone also needs to see Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Because nothing says "Funny" like...a person who knows English saying "Funny."

Wait, that came out wrong.

The Colour Purple is a great book, but the film is lame and cut out most of the lesbian relationship between Celie and Shug that forms a great deal of the story.

Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure?!

I think people should see...
-La Haine
-Dark Days
-Rushmore

and I can't be bothered to write anymore because i need my dinner.

Mweheheee. People do read the lists XD

The reasons are a combination of 'Movies used to be like this?' and 'Keanau Reeves existed before the matrix?'.

I was going to put that on my list, but didn't. What a truly wonderful film. I'm still trying to get my husband to watch it. He only lasted 5 minutes the first time I tried. ^^;

I absolutely love that movie! It's so charming and cute and just....I dunno, awesome. It's almost like an anime, actually....

Cabaret, I think. Not for the younger audiences, though.

The Wizard of Oz, and DEFINITELY The Sound of Music.

(Although I'm sure everyone has seen these movies)
