Frankly I'm not sure why the studios are putting up with this crap. If I ran a company and my workers started striking, they'd be gone. Granted, it's harder to replace writers than it is to replace laborers, but I would do my best to continue without them until they decided to come back. It seems like Fox is doing that, and I don't blame them in the least.
Fox is trying to do it, but it's going to fail miserably.
Creating episodes without core characters and the main team of writers can seriously affect the quality of the show. And as Setekh said, you'll be sued by these union workers and will most likely
lose which would cause a serious budget deficit in the studios.
That's why the studios are putting up with this "crap".
As for Family Guy, the episodes going into production are WITHOUT Seth's input, therefore I doubt he is voicing any of the characters.
I'm watching one right now, and it's definitely Seth.
