Oh and by the way what is thirteen about because I remember seeing a film on a film review show and I can't remember whether it was called thirteen or not?

Amazon:

"A thirteen-year-old girl's (Wood) relationship with her mother (Hunter) is put to the test as she discovers drugs, ___, and petty crime in the company of her cool but troubled best friend (Reed)."

Yeah, I 'censored' it.

Just looking at your list;

Jim wrote:

Office Space <--- Take This Job & Shove It? Hmm ok. 5.
Reservoir Dogs <--- Good, but QT has done much better.
The Magnificent Seven <--- I remain unmoved.
The Seven Samurai <--- Not been reading too much Total Film, by any chance?
The Usual Suspects <--- Gabriel Byrne let everyone down.
American Beauty <--- Modern classic, even though Scott Bakula is in it.
BladeRunner <--- Good, except I hate Ridley Scott.
Alien <--- First of those 'sequel was better' franchises.
Carolina Skeletons <--- No idea.
Citizen Kane <--- Big fat cheeks. Would never work these days.
Leon <--- Big claps. Reno not playing second fiddle for once.
The Thing <--- I watched it (again) last night. They could do THAT in 1982?
Highlander <--- Christopher Lambert couldn't speak a word of english when it was made. It shows. Pants. With big stains.
Jaws - <--- No, no, no. Bite my head off, please.
Equilibrium <--- The Matrix with a moral trying to get out. Nice gunfights, that's all really.
Desperado <--- No. Let me just stick 'Jaws' on again.
The Deer Hunter <--- Very moving. Sad. Cut your on throat entertainment.
Full Metal Jacket <--- I knew this would be next on your list after the one before, without looking. Best Vietnam war film, full stop.
Apocalypse Now <--- Never got it. Pased me by.
The Shawshank Redemption <--- Nice. Heartwarming. Makes you want to hug a puppy at the end.
Goonies <--- Hell no, where's the copy of Jaws?
Lost Boys <--- If only to see a man eating worms. (almost)
Ferris Bulers Day Off - Lots of better 'coming of age' films
Evil Dead/Evil Dead II - Not the same at all. Second (and the third) should have been drowned at birth.
Army of Darkness <--- See above.
Predator <--- Now you're talking.
Commando <--- And you were doing so well.
Enter the Dragon <---
The Big Boss <---
Fist of Fury <--- Lee is more appealing than Van Damme. Still all empty.
Kickboxer <---
Cyborg <---
Terminator <--- Seminal.
Grosse Point Blank <--- Cusack cannot act, it's official
Cowboy Bebop The Movie - Good music. Thats about it.

There are a lot more films I could list, but I think people would get bored and stop reading.

Watch them. You'll thank me.

Thank you? Well maybe for a couple of them.
Can I recommend a few for you too...?

Harry, He's Here To Help (French with English subs, but hilarious just the same
About Last Night - Demi Moore and Rob Lowe in a Mamet screenplay.
Glengarry Glen Ross - Another Mamet screenplay, Spacey, Baldwin, Harris, Pacino and Jack Lemmon.
Spirited Away
American History X
Breakfast Club
Memento
Magnolia
American Psycho
Boogie Nights
Liar Liar
Gone With The Wind
Dr Strangelove
Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead - From the original Tom Stoppard Play with Gary Oldham and Tim Roth
Monty Python & The Holy Grail.
Private Benjamin
Dune - Kitsch, but still.

Like you, I could go on.

I don't have an avatar or a sig. My words are all you need to judge me.

Forgot about it, but everyone should see The Outsiders.

It's not the best movie ever or anything, but it's really powerful. You should see it, especially if your a Tom Cruise fan.

I haven't exactly read through this thread but.. LOL.

Kikujiro - Japanese w/ Eng subtitles (try Foreign section of local video rental store)
* No. It's not Anime.
* Yes. It will puzzle you to say the least.
* It's an amusing film. No big life changing plots, sob story or anything. Just entertainment, though it may be a tad sad for some.

Terminator gets shown on the local channel here sometimes.. and seriously...the movie is the cheesiest thing ever.
Watching it again I actually said to myself... "Good lord.. I actually liked this movie??"
That's how crappy it ended up being.
Terminator 2 is great..... Terminator 1.... nuh uh... least IMO :)

And I can't remember if I suggested this here or put it on another thread...
But everyone should see

The Truman Show- Jum Carey is amazing in it along with all of the other actors. It's an awesome movie. People don't give him enough credit for his serious roles. Man can act his butt off.

I love so many movies listed here who ever it was that put Flight of the Navigator on their list, thanks that was such a good movie. My list:

Breakfast at Tiffany's- already listed but my favorite movie or all time.
Wait untill Dark- I think that this is one of Audrey Hepburn best movies.
Dark Victory- my favorite Bette Davis movie
The Virgin Suicides - Such a great movie. I thought it was such a messed up movie the first time I saw it, I had to watch it again.
The Invisible Circus- I just love it
The Crow- the first one, when the lead actor dies you should not make more.
Empire Records- The fat man walks alone.

Thats all i have for now

Vengeance is a lazy form of grief.

Goodness, that movie was TERRIBLE! hated it with a passion! Virtually no plot, all violence, horror, gore and stuff. And of COURSE, the pretty girl survives. Man, I, too, wish I had not seen it.

Eat Drink Man Woman is probably my favourite Ang Lee movie, only rivaled by Brokeback Mountain. Sadly, it's not as well known as his other films in the US.

A couple more I don't remember if they were mentioned:

BASEketball - So stupid it is hilarious
Young Frankenstein - Gene Wilder in a Mel Brooks film = comedy gold
Pee Wee's Big Adventure - See comment for BASEketball
Star Trek IV - The comedy of the Star Trek series and most people's favorite
Help! & Hard Days Night - The Beatles make a movie. Both are really fun
Any of the Muppet movies - They are just good clean fun with tons of famous guest stars

That's all for now. I'll try to think of more.

Classic - American Werewolf in London, all the blade films, Interview with the Vampire, Spiderman, the Shining.

I'm more into horror films. Although the most powerful film I ever saw was a subtitled film called La Vita è bella, meaning Life is Beautiful. Don't watch it if you don't want to cry your guts out for a week... literally.

Clerks II

Image

The reason you should see it - because it's probably Kevin Smith's best film that not only manages to be the funniest thing he's ever done but almost manages to have a lot of heart.

Reason you probably haven't seen it - because it hasn't officially come out yet. But it will be soon!

Also don't worry if you haven't seen the original Clerks (although in the spirit of this thread you should check it out!) - Clerks II works as it's own film and tells you everything you need to know.
