I haven't watched it yet, but something was wrong with our Fox station when it was on. The sound was *really* crappy and crunchy and it hurt my ears, so I had to stop watching. We have it taped, so I'm going to try and watch it today in intervals before the next comes on tonight.
Jas, dear, I sent you an IM.
You can hear the audio there if Fox messed your audio up.
EDIT: And, ooh, here's a fun thing to do while waiting for the finale!
If you were on American Idol, which songs would you have chosen for each of the theme weeks? (And let's just pretend you can sing everything really well, because I have a crap voice.
)
Week 1 (or, really, 4): Stevie Wonder
Week 2: Songs from the 1950s
Week 3: Songs from the 21st Century
Week 4: Country
Week 5: Queen
Week 6: Songs from the Great American Songbook
Week 7: Great Love Songs
Week 8 (1): A Song from the Year of Your Birth
Week 8 (2): A Song from the Top 10 of a Billboard Chart
Week 9 (1, 2): Elvis Presley
This is what I would do:
1: Quite possibly my favourite song from this period in music: Superstition
2: Fever. If only because it's worked for pretty much everyone who has sung it.
3: Shakira's Poem to a Horse
4: Ugh, I hate all country. But I could stand singing Faith Hill, probably Bringing Out Elvis or Breathe.
5: I'd be really tempted to sing Bicycle Race, but I'd probably sing Fat-Bottomed Girls or The Show Must Go On (this song is GREAT).
6: Ooh, I'd do Come Rain or Come Shine. There's this place my family goes sometimes to try to be normal. They have a different singer each day and for some reason he/she chooses to sing this every time we go there. I fell in love with it.
7: Unchained Melody... it's really a good song when not sung by Kellie Pickler.
8 (1): My birth year is 1990. I'd be SO SO tempted to shave my head and sing Sinead O'Connor's rendition of Nothing Compares 2 U.
But I'd probably do Vision of Love by Mariah Carey.
8 (2): Mary J. Blige's Be Without You (currently #8 on the Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs list)
9 (1): Jailhouse Rock
9 (2): Little Less Conversation
