With all this Internet hype, I'm suprised there isn't a thread about this film.

Well, I got back from seeing it and I really loved it. It was very well done and even though I didn't even hear of this movie until the previews came out, I thought it was worth the apparent hype it had.

Anyone else hate/like it?

Heh, I saw it opening day...

Amazing. xD It's very well done for such a "supposedly horrible done" movie, and it's absolutely hilarious in the process of being downright gorrific at parts. x_x

It's the greatest movie ever made!

I mean... It has snakes (deadliest creatures ever) on a plane! :o Have you ever seen that combination!

Since I didn't get to see it on opening day, I probably won't go to see it in theaters. Without a big crowd, it won't be as much fun.

I thought it was great!! it's been a long time since a horror movie actually made me that squeamish, and I'm not even afraid of snakes. I saw it at a drive in, and I oculd hear people squealing from other cars.
I loved how once the snakes were on the plane, they really made an effort to keep things realistic, like what would really happen if there were snakes on the plane.
And of course, that's the best movie title I've ever heard.

Yeah, what's with the elderly people? At the drive in, there was an elederly couple in one car, and another couple in maybe their late fifties. Didn't think this movie would appeal to their age group. (I know my parents have no desire to see it)
But maybe they were just making out :X

Snakes on a plane is a wonderfully thought out film, that is sure to be a hit.

Why would I mess with this vision by actually seeing it?

I'm seeing it this weekend with Pete. For once we're going to go to a night show instead of the matinee so that we'll see it with a bigger crowd in the audience.

Admittedly I was kinda hoping it would be bad. I'm not a horror fan. I just wanted to laugh at it. But I'll go anyway just so I can say I saw a movie called "Snakes on a Plane". :P

Yeah, I felt kind of bad for them. Either they didn't get the jokes at all, they were scared witless (though I don't know how), they fell asleep during the whole movie, or they really hated it. When we were leaving the theatre, they had this sort of "I just saw a murder" look on their faces. Well, at least it was funny. xD

I shall be the first to say that that had to be a one of the lamest movies ever made this year. I mean, with a title "Snakes on a Plane", you can't expect much of a real plotline, which seemed to be kind of rushed and out of the picture most of the movie, as they mainly focused on getting rid of the snakes and saving their buns from being bitten. I didn't see how it was realistic, either.

But I did get a mighty good laugh when I went to the theatre, which consisted of six people

I paid $6.25 to go watch the Cobra Starship video in the credits, basically. =]

LOL. You went to a movie called Snakes on a freaking Plane for the plot!? (sorry, I found that hilarious) I see a career in the movie critic business (Roeper, anyone?). With that said, you ruined the movie for yourself.

Let me quote from a blog from a guy that pretty much knows what he's talking about when he says:

Quote:
Most importantly you need to have the ability to suspend your disbelief. Suspension of disbelief is the key to this movie. You should have the following mantra going through your head at all times, "stop thinking stop thinking stop thinking".

"Wait, did that snake have a full set of teeth?" - stop thinking
"How the heck did that..." - stop thinking!
"Now wait a second, that's just stup..." - STOP THINKING DANG IT!

There were plot holes big enough to fly a 747 through, some of the most spectacularly bad acting ever seen, and I couldn't have loved it more.

You can't go into a movie with a name like "Snakes on a Plane" and sit there thinking about things that are obviously not supposed to be a big part of the movie. It's like going to a ballet and getting ticked because there wasn't enough guns or explosions.

Well, seeing as I never said anything about going to the movie for the plot ... I simply went because there was nothing better to do on a Saturday and I wanted to go laugh at the terrible movie, which I did. Making it more of a comedy than an action/adventure - which I think they tried to aim for.
