I've just recently started watching this, and I have to admit it is pretty good. It's a soap opera, but in english english. It's really good. Anyone watch it?

It's an English soap set in Manchester. We're all like that in the North of England.
:D

Yes, it's such an accurate portrayal of life in the North of England. :P

Meh, I used to watch it. Then it got silly. But I guess you could argue it's always been silly.

Which bit was silly?

Ummm...*thinks* I can't think at the moment. But they've had some stupid storylines. Like the Peter Barlow bigamy one. *nods*

All hail the CORRIE!

Haha, it's funny sometimes ;)

Much much much better than Eastenders, lol.

In my opinion, Coronation street is the George W. Bush of england.

Why would anyone want to watch such depraved people live out their crappy, crappy fictional lives practically every night of the week, when you could happily go enjoy your life (which is better) or drink some petrol and live like the corrie-crew for a week.

I mean, come one! Look at it, everyone spends their time in the pub, there's a whiny guy who's voice refuses to break, and its rubbish i say its rubbish

Avoid avoid avoid avoid! Don't look to this cesspit of despair for an interpretation of what english life is like. If i woke up one day in that hell-hole, I'd leave, immediately, throwing grenades behind me as a I left.

Shame on anyone who watches it!

It tends to get called the "north". It is kind of. It is the North compared to Eastenders. *shrug*

yeah I guess. Depends where you live.

Manchester has always been the North. Technically, Manchester is North-West, and Cumbria is North North West. Or something. Boo.

I live in a fairly small town and a lot of people where I live spend all their time in the pub.
I used to work in a village pub and everyone there just goes to the pub.

I live in a small town (about 3000, which is actually quite small indeed) and we have nine pubs. Always full.
