Superman is no more.. :(

Mon Oct 11, 2004 7:17 pm

I woke up to my roommate's radio alarm going off, this morning.

The first thing I heard was, "Actor Christopher Reeves died of a heart attack."

So. R.I.P., Superman!

I couldn't believe it when I heard from my dad about it! I feel so bad...he went through so much.

Even though I wasn't much of a fan of Superman, I did admire his confidence in making a full recovery. Which reminds me of a time I saw him in a hospital... Rest in Peace Christopher.

Pity. I was hoping to see more of him in Smallville.

Christopher Reeves was a great man.
For me it's proved a lot, what with his fight for Stem cell research (lets not get into a debate on that though please), and for the fact that it shows that no matter how much gear you put on when you horseback ride (he was wearing EVERYTHING he possibly could have to protect himself when he fell off) that you can still get injured.
But he lived his life, and the clip of an interview that I just saw of him, makes me think at least that he doesn't regret so much what happened.
I wish his family my best wishes, and may he RIP

I was shocked when I heard about him dieing as well.
Very sad... although it seemed like it wasn't going to happen... I was really hoping to see him on the news one day telling the world he could walk again. Or at least stand up or something... *shrugs* it's silly but I was hopeful...
But anyways....

RIP Chris aka Superman :(

Too bad. :( I never knew a thing about him, or even heard of him, untill I say another thread about him dying, but still.. God bless. :(

He was an amazing man, as everyone else said.

Like Hunter, I wanted to see him in Smallville.

RIP Chris Reeves. A kryptonite bullet finally hit you

Strangely enough, today's newspaper headline here in Sydney was very similar to the headline on the Daily Planet when Superman died in the comic.

Strange.

Rest In Peace, Mr. Reeves.

I'm of the Maddoxian opinion to an extent. That doesn't mean I seek to undermine the actual work he's done for stem cell research, I just dont approve of the bandwagon "OMG SUCH A HERO" talk that people anxious to keep up with popular opinion give off.

Sorry for his family and the fact he never got to "achieve his dream"
:(

Well he was a hero (on screen and off). Many people would have that happen to themselves and just give up. And he almost did. But because of him and his support of stem cell research, so much progress has been made. He managed to take the tragedy and turn it into something good. He was never supposed to move again, or breath without tubes, yet just recently he shocked everyone by breathing without his tubes and moving his finger (or something).

Seriously, its not just a bandwagon to keep up with popular opinion. He's what real-life heroes are all about.

of all famous people, christopher reeve was probably one of the most deserving of the title "hero." i am almost certain that had he lived, he would have walked again. he fought and worked and never gave up, and gave hope to so many people by both example and in his work.

this isn't a bandwagon. this is real respect for someone who, for once, truly deserves it.
