I watched that film last night and it is absolutley amazing.
All the reviews I read were really bad but it is definatly one of the best movies I've seen this year.
It did make me very sad though

I thought it was pretty good as well.
Which ending did you see.. the director's ending? Or the one they showed in the theaters?
Don't read it if you don't wanna know the ending
Director's Ending is the one where he kills himself in his mother's womb. Theater ending I think he tells the girl to stay away from him or something like that?

Ah, that explains it. I watched the Butterfly Effect yesterday and my friend was going on about seeing a different ending. I saw the Director's Ending, it's pretty good.

I thought this movie was very good, if a little disturbing. It had an interesting storyline too and its not the sort of movie that was unbelievably predictable either which is always a good thing, knowing what's going to happen at the end in the first 10 minutes of a movie is not cool. I've heard that the end was changed for the video/dvd but I have yet to see that ending.

Awesome movie. It reallllly makes you think...
The Director's ending was so much better. The Theater ending was just like... "Uhh.. what?" It was weak.

oooh I saw the theatre ending we thought that was sweet though

I haven't seen it yet, but my friend saw it the same night you did, Floella. He IMed me and told me that it was amazing. I didn't think a film with Ashton Kutcher in it could be anywhere close to amazing, but I think I'll give this one a chance.
Is it really creepy though? Because I get spooked easily.

I saw the movie in the theatre and I loved it. It was sad though
I haven't had a chance to see the director's ending, but I really want to. I also want to buy the dvd. I really enjoyed the movie...

I dont like how whenever someone comes in to talk about this, no one can be bothered to give a little summary of what the film is about - My computer is too slow at the moment for me to open yet another internet window and go search for it, so could people just try and put 2 more minutes into their post when they post in one of these, so people who havent seen or have forgotten what its about can have an idea of what on earth you're all talking about.

Plot Summery on imdb.com wrote:A young man (Kutcher) blacks out harmfull memories of significant events of his life. As he grows up he finds a way to remember these lost memories and a supernatural way to alter his life.
Does that help some?
More in-depth:
Evan began having strange blackouts at a young age where he would have no memory of what he had been doing. His mother took him to a psychiatrist, who suggested that he keep a journal, a log of everything he did. The blacked out memories always occured during signifiant bad moments.
After he grows up, he starts reading his old journals, and discovers that by reading the entries surrounding his blackouts, he can go back and relive the blackouts. By reliving them, he can change what happened. But by changing his past, he alters his future.
Everytime he changes his past, his future ends up getting worse and worse. And he has to keep going back and trying to change it.
That's spoilerish...

Not creepy in the sense of a horror movie or anything. It is just "disturbing" in that it deals with the darker side of human nature in parts and some really serious issues.

Well.
It looked pretty bad in all the trailers I saw. And the reviews I read.
And the plot summary hasn't changed my mind.

That's what I thought, until I actually saw the movie. It was really good:)

I saw it and thought it was a good way to pass an hour and a half of my time. The story line was pretty good although I really thought the directors ending was beyond stupid.
And, my biggest gripe? Ashton Kutcher is no Deniro.
