- Before going solo, he had his own band named The Tennessee Two. The band's name was then changed to The Tennessee Three. The band still exists, with their last album being a tribute to the Man in Black.
- According to Cash, his greatest achievement is being inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1980.
- His singles include "A Boy Named Sue", "Ring of Fire" and "God's Gonna Cut You Down"
