The big screen and the small screen... together at last! Hurrah!

Anyone watch the premiere tonight?
MAN are there some annoying teams! Good grief.
Both of the "old" couples get on my last nerve.
When the married couple couldn't find the cluebox on the bridge.. when they walked RIGHT BY IT and then when they finally found it the woman was like... "I don't think that was there" good lord I wanted to strangle her!!
And then when the other older couple.. the women friends? MAN they were just as annoying. Their shrieking and their constant "Oh my gooooooooooood" I wanted to strangle them as well.
And don't even get me started on the "Ken and Barbie" or the guy that looks like Phil with a beard and his wife. UGH UGH UUUUUGH.
Irritating as all get out!!
Oh and the 2 young girl friends. They sure are trying to do that whole.. "lets use our bodies to get us what we want!" thing.... SIGH
And seriously.. WHAT was up with those total PIGS, DOGS, @(*&!()!!!! guys hooting, whistling.. and hollaring at that guys wife like that?? Seriously... that was just straight up STANK and they all deserved a serious kick to their heads.
Right now.. I'm cheering for David and Lori aka the nerds
And BJ and Tyler aka the hippies.
I like the teams that remember to just have fun during the race and those 2 right now seem like that kinda team.

Shollia... I missed the premier, but you and I should form a team and go on. Seriously. It'd be awesome. The two crazy artists, one of whoms Canadian? How would that not be great viewing? Plus, this way, we can mock the other teams for their stupidity to their faces. Mwahahaha. Excellent...
Wed Mar 01, 2006 7:52 am
I'd love to see you two on a team on TV someday. :P
Augh...Shollia, you're right, the teams this time around largely annoy me! At the bottom of my list, as the most annoying, would be...that Lake dude (from the married parents duo- he screws up and only partially admits it) and John (from the lifelong friends/boyfriends/I'm not sure duo). The one funny thing I found from John was his "hoho risotto" quote or something like that, but other than that, he was a wreck. Thank goodness he got eliminated.
[edit] Oops, mixed up those names a little bit. John was who I meant, not Scott.
Very close, but not quite as annoying are the Barbie/Ken team, the "Glamazon" team, and the old couple. The arrogant dudes I don't like either, but I'm hoping that their antics will at least provide some unintentional humour in future episodes.
Oh, I felt kinda sorry for that couple who was assembling the motorcycle in front of the crowd. I'm glad they moved on.
I didn't like David and Lori as much as the previews made me like them, but they're really funny. They seem to have the best team dynamic as well. It's also a little weird how the show plays different music almost everytime they flash to them.
But I'm definitely rooting for BJ and Tyler. Did you read their bios on the site? Starting a massive dance party in the streets of China? Walking the 2000 mile length of Japan to impress a girl? Hilarious.

Go BJ and Tyler and Dave and Lori. Of the bottom two teams I would have rather had the glamazons go. They were so annoying at the helicopter place yelling and saying they had peed their pants. Not that Scott and what's his name were great but at least they weren't shrieking. I wasn't sure why the one team was assembling the motorcycle outside (with the obnoxious leering men) instead of inside with everybody else. The helicopter ride looked like fun.

...uh.
I was watching Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide. ^^;; I'll let you know who I'm rooting for next week. I think maybe those two guys who wanted to flirt with Danielle and Dani will be my favourites, though. They seem funny.

Whew. Glad to see the rest of you think we have a bunch of annoying groups this time. It boggles the mind.
>> Glamazons. Wow. The shrieking NEVER ends. Every other scene they're AHHHH OHHH MY GAAAWD. Sweet jiblets, I hope they go next.
>> Detour. C'mon now. I can't believe Dani Danielle (Double D? Haha...) and the old couple went to try the motorhead... Helicopter flying n' searching sounds WAY more fun
The southern couple... obviously the team that's going to be at each other's necks for the whole game. Joy joy on that.
And the nerd couple. Wow. I don't even know how to start there. The goofy music that they put in the background whenever they're on. Appropriate. Yarr.
*waves flag for Hippy team* Cool team indeed. And well... yay for new season. Hehe

Ehh...forgot to post yesterday. Where'd all the AR fans go? :P
Hehe, I liked the challenges this time around. Glad to see the "grueling" aspect back with that fire escape challenge, and I liked how that ethanol was a gas replacement. Costly...but kinda environmental, I suppose.
Eric and Jeremy need to stop following the other teams around. That, and flirting and thinking inappropriate thoughts out loud. Lake needs to stop yelling. He's gonna drive me nuts for the duration of his stay on the show.
The teams this time around seem to be in two camps: terrible racers, and pretty good racers. No one really in between. Thus the Glamazon team were eliminated. My prediction would be that either Dani/Danielle or Fran/Barry are next, seeing that they've stuck around the bottom twice now.
Next week looks fuuuuun. Searching for the next clue in Russian nesting dolls? Whee.

I can't wait for the old couple to leave.
Good lord they are so annoying and just straight up senile sometimes.
And I'm so glad the "Glamazons" are gone gone GOOOONE.
I am enjoying watching the hippies though. They just look like they're having so much fun!
I'm so glad they came in first instead of those other guys.
Their comments are really starting to wear thin.
That whole wanting sex and their flirting and just.. uuugh.. I wanted to punch them out.
Thu Mar 09, 2006 7:32 pm
I am glad that the sisters are out. They are so noisy.

Well. I'm glad to see soemone finally posted. I wanted to post, but doing an edit is just not the same or as cool. Haha.
Yay for the glamazons being out. Probably couldn't stand them for any longer. Got a lil' nervous when Phil said "may" be eliminated. Sorta popped my mind cause he said "will" be eliminated last week. And I was explainin' to my roomie about how the terminology works. Haha. Uhh righty then.
Yay for kachina dalls! (That's what they're called right?) Should be fun

Heh, I did a little research on the show- apparently Phil says "will be eliminated" on the first episode, then "may be eliminated" every episode after that.
A few other interesting tidbits from last season's cast...
- Remember the Linz and Bransen families? Tommy Linz and Lindsay Bransen are dating now.
- Remember the Weavers? Apparently Linda Weaver (the mom) always wore a shirt that said "Chris" on it. No, that's not the name of her late husband- it's the name of her then-fiance/now husband. Ugh, that team brings back bad memories...
- Remember the Schroeders who got eliminated in their hometown of New Orleans? Their home was destroyed, so they moved in with the Rogers in Louisiana. All the teams sent donations their way.
Err...kachina dolls? Wikipedia says matryoshka dolls.

Ahha. Interesting! Good to know. Somehow I had in my mind otherwise. *shrug*

Meh. Close enough.

Bye, bye glamazons, definitely won't miss you. I'm glad the hippies came in first but I really wish Eric and Jeremy were farther down in the pack so there would be a chance of them being eliminated soon. All of their stupid banter is wearing thin fast.
Thanks for the info on the teams from last season. Geez I can't believe the Weaver mom was engaged that whole time since she spent the whole show crying over her late husband, what a hypocrite.

I called that.
Actually, I thought it'd be a triple-dating thing.
I hate the "hippies." First of all, they're not hippies at all. THEY'RE POSEURS. A real hippie would not act like that. They annoy me to no end. I want them gone.
I love Dave and Lori. They're people I'd be friends with.
Wanda and Desiree are great.
And although I hate Eric and Jeremy, they're nice to look at.
