Songs that make your spine tingle...

Whats songs really reach you, or just engulf you in the greatness of the song?

For me....

One Song Glory - Rent.

Though, the person who introduced me to the song said they didn't like it very much(*cough*SOCK*cough*).

I relate to it, I suppose. The whole notion of leaving some form of imprint. Not that I'd want it to be be huge, just something that someone would remember me by.

**points at set** One by U2. It's really awesome, in so many ways.

I can't remember the name of the song or who sang it. It goes like
'I wanna take you there,
in the midnight hour,
I can feel your power.'

I can't remember all of it though.

^ That would be 'Like a Prayer' by Madonna. :)

Umm...'Golden Brown' by the Stranglers. It always has done, I don't know why.

There are many, but since this one is the best song in the universe;

The Centre Of The Heart - Roxette

Thu Nov 10, 2005 1:26 pm

Canta Per Me - Kajiura Yuki
Laisse le vent emporter tu - Mylene Farmer
Rinbu Revolution - Okui Masami
Desenchantee - Mylene Farmer
Time after Time - Cyndy Lauper
Livin' on a Prayer (Prayer '96 version, particularly) - Bon Jovi
Total Eclipse of the Heart - Bonnie Tyler
The Dance - Garth Brooks
Drops of Jupiter - Train

These are the songs that I stop and listen to, that I give my full attention to when I hear them, and that really just seem to move me in some way. Laisse le vent emporter tu makes me cry just about everytime I hear it.

I know there are others, or better examples of songs that overwhelm me with their power, but that's what comes to mind immediately (I may be at work, but I'm still half asleep :P).

Brothers in Arms - Dire Straits

Ever since I was little I've loved that song ^^ A lot of songs by U2 and Muse have the same effect, as well as songs and scores in a whole heap of films.

Some people have reminded me of a a few (and I agree with some of them :)). Let's see...

Michelle Branch - Goodbye to You
Michelle Branch - Breathe
Michelle Branch - All You Wanted
Third Eye Blind - Jumper
Third Eye Blind - How's it Gonna Be?
Avril Lavigne - Nobody's Home
Switchfoot - Meant for Live
Star Sailor - Way To Fall
Kansas - Dust in the Wind
U2 - Sometimes You Can't Make it on Your Own
Bryan Adams - Heaven
DJ Sammy ft/ Yanou and Do - Heaven
Wind's Nocturne (I think it's from Lunar the videogame)
Maroon 5 - Sunday Morning
Maroon 5 - Harder to Breathe
Silverchair - Ana's Song
Silverchair - Anthem for the Year 2000
Train - Drops of Jupiter
Train - Get to Me
Dishwalla - Counting Blue Cars
Stroke 9 - Little Black Backpack
A lot of classical songs that I can never remember the name of. :\

These are usually songs that I can listen to hours on end because they hit a certain "nerve". Then I become obsessed with them for a small or rather large amount of time.

*wonders if you actually know what the phrase 'agnus dei' means*

Something with the phrase never had a dream come true in it is the one that makes me shiver. Though the song was pretty sappy and I didn't like it, the singer was absolutely amazing (and no, not the original singer).
