The big screen and the small screen... together at last! Hurrah!

All right, if you came here and haven't read the books, leave now. I've finally decided to drop that spoiler warning. A good rule of thumb: Never, ever click on a thread for a book you haven't read, unless it's a classic.
Anyway, Lupin beats Scrimgeour
unanimously. I thought I'd never see the day.
Moving on...
From PoA:
Lupin
vs.
Wormtail
Yes, well, my opinion of Wormtail has improved markedly since his appearance in HBP, but, well, there
is a reason Sirius is my favorite character.
And did I mention how awesome Remus is?

I bet this is going to be unanymous again.
Lupin is awful in the movie though. He looks so nasty. Not creepy-nasty, but ugly-nasty.

I'll volunteer to be oddball here (but I see someone else already voted for Wormtail). It seems Peter has more story potential, at this point. He still has opportunity for partial redemption. Though I can see that as still messing things up -- what if, in his attempt to repay his Wizard's Debt to Harry, he is too afraid to do anything even small to (or around) Voldemort, but instead takes Snape out of action, unaware (as are Voldy and the rest of his Death Eaters) that the former Potions Master is still on the side of the good guys.

It was me who voted for Wormtail.
I don't read Harry Potter, but I felt sorry for him.

Lupin... though I admit I'm not nearly so keen on him in the films as in the books. I feel as though that is the one and only character so far they didn't get spot on when transporting from book to screen :/

Come now, David Thewlis did an awesome job. He was trying his hardest to fill in the gaps in the script with little smiles and eyebrow motions, and generally doing the best he could... despite, well, looking nothing like Lupin.

Oh it wasn't appearance I was faulting the choice on, I don't mind when people don't look like I expect - the film character just didn't have the warmth that the book character held for me. Not faulting the actor, that film appealed the least to me as as a stand alone film as it didn't have the warmth and atmosphere that the others had. I was extremely impressed that Sirius carried over so well after seeing Lupin. I think as well, like you say, there were too many gaps to fill plotwise that involved Lupin.
Here's hoping he's better in the next ones he's in

I like Lupin more...
. I forget what the movie Lupin looked like, but I know for sure he looked better than the movie Wormtail (like... eww...)

Yes, but in the book, Lupin is WAY better.
Besides, I have an obsession with werewolves. :p

No contest for me, Wormtail is very disgusting and would almost never get my vote, while Lupin is awesome.
