Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy

Tue May 10, 2005 1:11 am

I saw the movie the day it came out. So Long Farewell... I loved it! I read that it was 2 hours and 30 minutes, they shortened it a lot. Douglas left notes for another movie to, it is on E!. Did anyone else like this movie or seen it? It was odd, zany, BUT GREAT!

I thought it was pretty silly but I laughed at most of it. It was ok.

I loved it.
It was a bit slow in parts and some of the comedy was a bit forced, but I found the movie as a whole was just good sillyness.
It was a really cute movie.
Loved the guy who played Zaphod. I mean the char was such a moron but you just couldn't help but love him and that dashing dorky smile of his :P rofl
Plus the visuals of the movie were pretty impressive.

Man I gotta read the all those books. Bf just got done reading them and he really enjoyed them all.

Considering that he wrote more than one book I expect there will be more than one movie.

I thought it was rather well done. The casting for one thing was absolutely perfect. Im still a bit miffed that the mattress didnt get more attention, though.

I thought it was great!
Very funny
I loved the opening credits

I hated Zaphod the moment he ballsed up that infamous line; "if theres anything on this ship more important than my ego, i want it found and shot now!"
just couldnt stand him from then on.
can stand whathisname (played arthur) anyway.
Mos def is a pratt (ford)
Trillian was ok.
Marvin owned.
Slartibarterfast was cool.
Deep thought was mocked with the incredible alteration to the character, and most of his/her/its lines were cut (and they were good ones too)

Still loved it though, cant wait for the Krikkit wars and agrajag :D

I was pleasantly surprised, it was actually done quite well. ^_^ Didn't like the casting of Zaphod, but that cannot be helped I guess.

<3 Bill Bailey the Whale. Perfect.

I completely agree, that whole sequence was brilliant!!!

Casting was fab, actual content not so fab. I enjoyed it yes, but it wasn't the books which I expected.

I wish people would not talk about the whale. I haven't seen it yet, but I love Bill bailey and want to have his hairy troll babies.

I haven't seen it. The trailer looks good. Is it worth the money?

Good lord yes. I actually liked Zaphod, I found his personality hilarious. Although, they could have done better with the two heads...

pshww, the boal of petunias is far cooler anyway.
if only because it takes two more books to explain why he thought that :D

I loved the movie. Not as great as the books, but what is these days?

I was the only one in the theatre laughing when they were in that line, and the old Marvin from the mini-series was standing in line.

They took out my favorite line, though.
Ford: "It's unpleasantly like being drunk."
Arthur: "What's so unpleasant about being drunk?"
Ford: "Ask a glass of water."
