Lindsay Lohan caught lypsyncing on 'Good Morning America'

Fri Dec 17, 2004 11:44 pm

Lindsay Lohan is facing accusations that she lip-synced during her performance on "Good Morning America" yesterday - and worse yet, she's accused of lip-syncing badly. Some viewers said that her lips weren't even moving at times during her morning show performance. The New York Post's Page Six quotes a spokesperson for Lohan's label who claims that the pop star sang live on the show, but acknowledged that Lohan was accompanied by "backing tracks" during one of the two songs she performed. If this doesn't turn you off, Lindsay's debut album "Speak" is out today.

That's sad. To be accused of lypsyncing is one thing but to be told you suck at that is much more pathetic.

Lol... I remember seeing something about her lip-syncing on one of those entertainment shows.
It showed a clip of it.. and OH boy... it was funny.
It's like the music started... the song is going with the singing and she isn't doing anything :P
She makes this face like a "Woops/Uh Oh" sorta face and tries to start mouthing along but she doesn't do a good job of it.
THEN the camera goes over the little fans in the front row and this one girl... she's maybe about 10yrs old.. she makes this "Uh oh.. she messed up" face...
HA very funny stuff.

Personally.. I could really care less if singers lipsync. What irks me are the ones who get all high and mighty about never lip-syncing and looking down on those who do.. and then get caught doing it themselves and trying to make lame excuses.

Leave the girl alone, people (talking to the press). Most everyone does it.

I disagree. Sure, some people do it. But there are many artists who don't.

BING BING BING. WRONG!

People with talent don't have to.

John Lennon never lip synched.
Freddy Mercury, nope.
James Brown is 20 times more energetic than your average pop performer (60 times more energetic than a less-than-average pop performer like Lohan)- does not lip synch.
Hey how about Elton John? How about, no!
Wait a minute, not even Eric Clapton or BB King, undeniable Guitar MASTERS who can pull off a killer lick and sing at the same time? Nope.
Mick Jagger? Ixnay on the ip-synchlay.

Not everyone does it. Only people that don't deserve to be on stage in the first place.

Eep, shoulda been more specific. I mean most modern bands which I listen to (and some I do not) do so, but I was not inferring the classics do.

Modern people who don't lyp-sync:

Evanescence
Seether
Billy Talent
Jet
Kanye West
Destiny's Child
Jojo
Usher
Most rap artists

Well, I'm not totally convinced of Jojo yet...

Let me ask you this:

What reason would they have for lip synching?
Why can't they sing au naturelle like the "classics" or the majority of today's artists?

They suck at singing live. They had no talent in the first place. OR rarely, they're sick.

Why can't they sing au naturelle like the "classics" or the majority of today's artists?

*points to the above answer*

You'd think that after the Ashlee Simpson fiasco she would've known not to risk it.

Brian Johnson can barely sing and doesnt lip-synch XD

Shucks! How did I miss that? That would have made my day.
Anyway, how can she not be lip synching? Her single is completely synthesized; it's incredibly obvious.

I know! I was like, "Whoa, are you singing or is that the computer?"

Sat Dec 18, 2004 4:38 am

coming from someone who was originally a vocal performance major, I have a few questions before I say anything.

Was she singing outside?

Was there a large crowd?

And how much was actually shown on TV?
