The big screen and the small screen... together at last! Hurrah!

I know everyone's been busy watching survivor, but it's EM:HE for me tonight!
It's become one of those must watch shows for me. Ty is soooo cute too but it gets me even more that she's SO sweet. The stories are inspiring, and it just BLOWS my mind how they get these houses done in only 7 days. Like last weeks building it from the GROUND up!
What's your opinion of the show?

I love it. ^^ After seeing the show where they helped the family with deaf parents and blind kid, it became a must-watch for me. It brought tears to my eyes to see what they did for them.

The fact that what they are doing is benefitting people in a way that can make their lives much easier, very much appeals to me.
Further more, what I thought was interesting is that they assume costs that having a larger or more furnished house can entail, especially since it's a "prize" type thing.

What a wonderful show tonight! Those girls and that mom could not be any more deserving.
The end made me burst into tears when the contractor ripped up the morgage. They so totally deserved this house...it was completely beautiful!!!

Oh no! I was at church and missed it, I think.
But I love this show! My favorite episode was the one where they built a pirate ship playground in the backyard.... I am still so jealous of that family! I totally want a pirate ship, haha.
But one thing I worry about-- you know how they come up with all these creative/awesome themed rooms for the kids? Well, what happens when the kid grows up? They're going to hate their room....

Yeah, I've thought about that too. But tonight's was really cool. A dance floor for one girl...and ampitheater for another...and a 60's room with magnet paint and those poem magnets for her walls. I was REALLY impressed with tonight's episode...and Elton John donated a piano..signed it and everything.
but it was when the CEO of the contracting company paid off the rest of her morgage...I lost it.

I was watching Survivor, btu I recorded Home Edition!
I've watched almost all the episodes so far and I just love that show.
I'm glad they're not the way they were at first.
At first they just picked families with pretty decent homes and made them better.
But now they actually pick families that could really benefit alot from getting their house madeover.
Mmhmm.. I love that show.
I'd apply for it, but I'm far too shy and would just die if I had to be on TV

I think I can say this is my favorite show on television, easy. It even passes family guy for me.
I saw on a commercial that on the 10th of January, they're making the "How'd They Do That" edition of EM:HE a series on Monday night where they show how they did the night before's house. Super excited now!

It's so great that they got Elton John to do that. (I caught the end)
Amazing stuff they do... especially taking care of the mortgage for these families. That's just incredible. Where does the money come from?

I'm thinkin a lot of it has to be donations. Sears probably donates a lot of stuff.
The rest...eh...I'm not sure. I'm sure ABC covers it to a certain point and they can't go over it. All in all they're really not doing that many houses, but I'm sure it's still extremely expensive.

EM:ME Is actually the only thing even close to a reality show you'll ever catch me watching. That show has become like a family affair for me. Every Sunday, everyone (parents and/ or sisters and their families) either come to my house to watch it, or we all go to my parents house to watch it. This is the only show that I can honestly ever remember all of us liking.
Plus I really like Ty, and my mom likes Micheal.
My dad thinks it's funny that they can get a house up in a week, but about a mile away from my house, Habitat For Humanity has been building the same house for the past 6 months.

Yeah, we love that show! My sister loves to watch it because she thinks that Ty is so funny. (please note that she's seven
) ...And I like it because it's so nice to those people, and it's really cool to look at how nice the house is afterwards.
And yes, Sears is really nice. They donate just about every appliance that goes into the homes, and it's just really cool of them to spend that much money every week.

I watched the Sunday one I recorded last night.
I swear I always start getting all teary eyed now! heh
That family really did deserve to have that done.
I think that was one of the nicer houses they built.
And Ty is such a dork
In a good way of course.. I couldn't help but crack up when he came out there in that Elvis outfit

I'm in the UK and we have that show on an obscure cable channel. I just watched it by chance the other night, and it was soooo good! As loads of you said, the fact that it means so much to the people really makes it great- I just saw an episode where Leanne Rimes came in at the end of the show & sang 'Amazing Grace'.
Great show!!!
