In Disneys next cartoon the princess will be black. The movie is called the frog princess which makes me think that they change the story line up a bit and she becomes a frog herself. By the looks of her leafy green dress I think this might be the case. Anyway, she is very pretty and I think this is a good movie for disney to include different kinds of people in it's movies.

She does look very pretty. :) I hope it's a good, classic movie and not a "comedy" like Hercules. >.<

I always wondered when a black princess was going to come in, I'm happy they decided to do it. But the Disney Princesses are,

Mulan
Belle
Snow White
Jasmine
Aurora
Cinderella
Pocahontas

Right?

Apparently "Home on the Range" was supposed to be the last animated film but since Disney's animated department is under new management, they decided to go back to 2D animation.

Here's some info on the movie itself,

Quote:
Disney had once announced that Home on the Range would be the studio's last 2-D entry to their animated features canon, but after the company's acquisition of Pixar in early 2006, it was reported that Ed Catmull and John Lasseter, new leaders of the animation department, were interested in going back to 2-D. Ron Clements and John Musker, directors of successful 2D Disney films Aladdin and The Little Mermaid, will be writing and directing. About a month later, at the Comic-Con, Disney animator Eric Goldberg confirmed the news and also mentioned that Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken would be in charge of the music.

Hercules was awesome. :P

Anyway, it's about time they went back to animation. This CGI crap was getting annoying.

Here's another picture of Maddy:

I'm just looking forward to the animation as opposed to CGI.

I have a feeling it might have a non-traditional ending as well. She becomes a frog I think. And maybe she will fall in love with another frog and maybe choose to stay a frog. I actually like little twists like that sometimes. Maybe she meets a nice frog prince but he is actually a frog. Then she can choose to be human or be a frog. Or maybe he will choose to be human for her.

Anyway it should be good. I've always liked that story. I've read several endings for it though.

In the old Frog Prince story, the Grims Brothers one, the princess throws the Frog Prince against the wall out of anger. As she realizes that she has killed the poor frog, she feels very bad and says something like, "Oh, I can't believe I just did that. I killed the poor frog and he just wanted to be my friend!" Then she says she is sorry but she thinks it is too late. But her tears bring him back to life and she watches as he morphs into the prince.

Well most of the real stories are not really suitable for today's children. Well according to "experts" they aren't. Children long ago were read these stories to teach them something about the hardships of the world. But back then people might only live to be around fourty or so.

Anyway, in Cinderella I think the step sisters cut off parts of their own heels to get them into the shoe. Not a pretty picture.

And in Little Red riding hood, she gets eaten by the wolf THE END. No rescue by a woodsman there.

In snow white the punishment for the old queen is to dance at Snow White's wedding wearing red hot iron shoes. And everyone was ok with that, including Mrs. Innocent Snowwhite herself.

And I really don't want to get into Sleeping Beauty, so I'll just pass on that one.

In the little Mermaid, she died because the prince could not love her. The seawitch gives her sisters a magic knife and all her sisters cut off their hair for it. Then they arrive with it and beg her to plunge it into the prince as he lays sleeping with his new wife. The blood will splash on her and turn her into a mermaid again, and she can go home. But she can't do it, so she dies. It says she has no soul either. So she has to wander the Earth as a spirit and she has to gain a soul by watching over all the children on the earth. There was something about if she went into a house with a good boy or girl, she would get days closer to heaven. But if she went into the house of a bad boy or girl, she would weep for them, and each tear would set her back weeks. Something like that.

Disneys Beauty and the beast was pretty close to the one I remember reading, but I think the beast was probably a lot better looking than he should have been. He was a pretty handsom beast I think. Not like the poor creature in the book I read. And there wasn't a rose or any time limit or anything. Just the poor beast asking her if she would marry him every night and her saying no then going to bed and dreaming of her prince.

I don't really want to see it again.

I was in Hungary at the time and had to accompany my young cousin to her friend's birthday party, and they watched Hercules. I literally understood 2 words.
