I don't have any DBDs, but . . . war inflation is not a rip-off, it's inflation. With the coming of "war" (in this case actually, per TNT, a couple battles) the demand for weapons increases, without a corresponding increase in supply.
The "real value" of a weapon in war time is higher than normal . . . if you define peacetime as normal. You could as easily say that the "real value" of a weapon is seen during war time, since that's when it's put to use, so the price is artificially low during peacetime.
A buyer is no more being ripped off by the fact that he/she has to pay more for a weapon in war time than a seller is ripped off by the fact that he/she cannot sell it for as high a price when we
aren't gearing up for war.
