You're looking at maybe 450-550k total I believe depending on whether you get to find a bunch of them on the Shop Wizard for 50k each or whether you purchase them from the Trade Post already put together.

Yes, they are in the vicinity of 500k. I personally think it is worth the cash, but that is up to you.

I got the entire set during the mid of this year. It cost me about 500k. I'm sure the pieces inflated, but you can try wiz-sniping them or using the auctions to buy some pieces cheap. However, beware that there are scams which say that if you buy something from their shop, they will give you 1np auctions etc.
And it's definitely worth it. My Skeith turned Grey and I even got a Lutari from the lab! Good luck on the lab, and good luck buying the pieces!

I'd certainly say the lab ray is worth it, even if it is close to 500k at the moment. It's more than paid for itself since I completed the map a year ago, having given me everything from Darigan Peophins to Island Cybunnies. Half of my pets are colored because of this nifty little gadget.
The biggest disadvantage is that it completely wrecked most of my pets' defense values (or maybe that was just my luck), so I wouldn't use it to create a battle pet unless you don't care how balanced its stats are.
