Help stop or fix the Neopets freezing policy!

Wed Sep 21, 2005 5:56 pm

I've had a bunch of friends get frozen recently, for completely innocent reasons, and they haven't gotten their accounts back yet. It's prompted me to get a bit angry about it, and I am going to do my part to do something about it. Or at least attempt to persuade TNT to work on the problem.

I have a petition I would like everyone to sign, http://www.petitiononline.com/neoice05/petition.html. I would request that there be no posts telling me it won't work, because I know there's a 99% chance that it won't work. However, there's still the 1% chance that it will. Looking on the other petition sites, I couldn't find really any petitions that had proper grammar or that weren't filled with swears, so I made a new one that has complete sentences. ;)

Along with the petition, I have a list of possible solutions to the freezing problem. If anyone would like to add an idea to the list, just post it here and I'll add it to the list.

There is also a testimonal part that holds testimonies I have been able to get from users who have been frozen. If you would like to add a testimony, I'm looking for it to include your frozen username, what happened, when, and what you think should have been the response/punishment if warranted. Please make it about 200 words. You can PM it to me if you don't want to post it here.

I have links to popular websites stating freezing statistics and complaints. (Which I don't expect them to go to, but if they do, that's cool.) If you know of a site that talks about the neopets freezings (again, only proper English and no swearing), you can let me know.)

And to start out all that information, I have a few letters that I typed up, to send to the Neopets team, companies who have advertised with them, and companies who have written articles about them.

I know that the majority of people who read this will be skeptical and either pass right by it to the next thread, or post to tell me that it won't work. Please, if you're just going to tell me it won't work and why, don't bother. I'm looking for people who are willing to sign the petition, and for testimonials. Thanks :)

petitiions dont do much. you could "collect" "signatures" by simply going to the neoboards and copying down a bunch of names.

But that wouldn't be honest since I didn't ask for their signature if I just copied down their name. At least with a petition people know that someone else signed the list, whether it's their real name or not, not me making up a few hundred names who didn't want to be there...

TNT doesnt know that. and they arent gonna nm 50 or so people asking wether or not they signed the petition or not.

No, but I'm not looking for neopet user names. Those don't count on a petition. Petitions require an email address, which although I can't see, prevents someone from faking a signature. That's besides the point though. I'm an adult, and I'm going to act adult about this, which includes not forging signatures.

:o Adult? Adult?! ADULT!?!!!!! IM SAVED!! my dad saysno more neo, beacuse it spreads "vicious spyware and viruses" and he wont listen to me. I will sign your petition, because you know what you are doing. Even though I dont think TNT will listen...I will give it a shot. It's my last act on neo...a good, worthwhile one.

I'll be sending off the letters the beginning of next week, so if anyone wants to send in a testimony or freezing solution, please do so by Monday or Tuesday. Thanks :)

I've now sent out a faxes and emails. Consisted of the petition, the testimonies, possible solutions, the letter to Neopets, and the letter to whoever I was faxing it to.

In case anyone would like to see what I sent, I put all my letters in a blogger account, since y'all aren't going to get cookie grabbed from that site. :)

Each post is a page that was sent. Neopets only got the Neopets letter, but everyone else got either letter publisher or client, and the Neopets letter. They all got a print out copy of the petition.

I've gotten a few replies back already (who replied is at the blogger site), so I know people are reading the faxes and emails. Snail mail letters will be going out this week. If anyone wants to get in a testimony from a frozen account, I could still use a few, and it might up your chance of getting unfrozen. The person who was at the top of the testimony list got unfrozen (we're not sure if it was because of my fax or emails or both), so I need a few to fill in the spot.
