i'm flying overseas next week as soon as exams finish for me for compassionate reasons, as the government likes to put it, my grandma is well very ill, and its bad enough that we, who were planning to go in 3 weeks time, are now going next week.

because we aren't sure of how strong she is really, we are staying for a month overseas, and fly back on the 27th of december.

its been very hectic for me personally, try studying for 2 huge exams and packing bags and cleaning house at same time, plus booking trips and passports.. living nightmare. but this isn't about my personal travails right now,

a friend has offered to look after my neo account, do my dailies, feed my pets, get the advent prizes. i'm just worried that it will look like 2 accounts and only 1 person, shes said that she won't sell/transfer anything between the accounts, and i trust her, i know her very well and have great trust in her and our friendship.

i'm sending an email to tnt *when the site gets back up* telling them of the situation, and that my friend has also said she won't sell anything that turns up on my account, but she might play a couple of games, and i'm wondering if they will let me,

so do you think they would oir give me a flat no? its also important for me to have a little feedback since next tuesday is the flight, and i haven't a clue when an auto response wopuld get to me.

If you see my sanity, get it to give me a call.

I'm sure TNT does not mind. Of course they aren't happy with people advertising account sitting but if it's a RL friend it should be okay. I mean afterall there are families who use one computer for like 5 accounts. It's a good idea to email them, just to make sure they know what's going on, and I hope your friend will not cheat you out off stuff. :) But it should be fine. :)

Those who still think listening isn't an art should see if they can do it half as well.

Don't advertise that your friend is sitting for your account.

Alternatively, just take the loss and put the pet up in the neolodge for 28 days. That's the safest way to do it.

Actually the neolodge has been made especially for cases like yours, that you can't play for a longer time. Why should your friend do the dailies and get free items when you're not around to enjoy them?
I recommend putting your pet(s) in the lodge and I think TNT would recommend the same and that they freeze your account if they found out you let someone else play for you...

i know about the neolodge, but its not just the feeding of my pets, its also the fact they have to be played with to avoid turning red or blue.. and if that happened to my baby pet i'ld scream.

but i'ld not like to miss out on the advent as well, and also i have the lab ray, and would like to continue training my pets as well.

Actually, if you click a couple of the bonuses in the neolodge, then your pet will stay happy. Those things actually have an effect on your pets' moods.

I don't think it would be against the rules to have your friend visit dailies for you, but it would be against the rules for them to play Flash Games. My case is a prime example of this.

In this case, I really think you should just put your pets in the lodge, pay for extras (I always do anyway, just because) and take the loss on dailies, etc.

Advent - well, according to the magazine, it looks like there will be an avatar, which you might miss out on (bad if you're a collector), but otherwise, most of the advent items you can pick up pretty cheap after a few days or I know I'd be more than happy to buy an extra of whatever, hold them for you then set up a trade when you get back so you have everything. I know it's not the same as actually going to the calendar yourself, but you wouldn't be the one going in the first place. No chance of anyone having a laptop so you can access Neo?

I think Neo will look at this as either account/pet sitting or sharing an account - neither of which are allowed, period. If, on the other hand, you did have access to another computer and wrote in alerting TNT of your situation and that you would be logging in from (whever ever you'll be) using x computer, etc. I think they'd be alot more understanding.

I hope that all goes well for you and yours. Sounds like you're stressed to your breaking point already just getting prepped for this trip. Will definitely send good thoughts your way.

I have almost the opposite situation and am wondering if I should write to Support. My rl best friend uses my puter for Neo - she doesn't own one, can't use the one at her job (can't even get/send personal emails). She normally plays weekends and maybe 1 or 2 nights a week. She's going to be staying here from around Thanksgiving through at least the month of December - her apartment's being worked on and she needs some surgery and will need help. So, she most likely will be coming to the site alot more. Neither of us want Neo to think there's anything "fishy" going on. We did write in last year (her first year - first Advent) to alert them that 2 people were playing on this puter. Don't know if we should remind them.

It is against the rules to have a friend do your dailies... in fact, it's against the rule to have anyone in your account, except you. Case in point, there was just a person here on the boards saying his mom was doing his dailies while she was at work, and both their accounts were frozen. If you mail TNT, they're going to tell you that account sitting is against the rules, then they're going to keep a close watch on your account for the next few months. I'd suggest (like everyone else said) putting your pets in the lodge.

Definitely put your pets in the lodge, pay for a couple extras so they stay happy, and get someone to buy one extra of each advent calendar item and trade them to you later. It's not worth the risk getting your friend to do stuff for you, and if you write TNT they are not going to be understanding -- they probably won't even read it, and if they do they'll tell you it's against the rules anyway.

Its not worth taking the risk of losing your account, if you like I can buy an extra advent item for you each day, unfortunately you may miss out on an avatar, but its better than having one sitting in a frozen account!!

Like others have said before me, it is not worth the risk. You might not just lose your account, but your friend's also.

And, re the lodge, I have put my pets in there for 28 days before and not one of them has ever been anything but delighted--and I never pay for any of the extras--so don't worry about the turning red/blue stuff. Besides, that cannot happen while the account is inactive. And, when you return, if any are less than delighted, just grab a cheap toy, play with it, and F5 until they are once again delighted.

And, finally, if you feel like you are missing any advent calendar items, like everconfused, I am happy to buy them for you and stock them away until you return. Just PM me. I look forward to the advent calendar (I have an advent calendar gallery) so I know how you must feel--but am happy to help if I can.

I know that you are going through a lot right now with the travelling, packing, and worrying about your grandmother, but, even if you did absolutely nothing with your Neo account while you were gone, it would stil be here when you return. And, there will be fellow PPTers to help you get back on your feet. I hope all goes well with you, your family, and your grandmother.

hmm i think you are probably right, oh well *sighs* i guess i'll cut the losses on the dailies, better than cutting the loss of an account. i never did end up sending that email, since downtime was too long :)

i think for the advent, since i always like to have the advent stuff, i'll get someone and get them to buy stuff :)

as for the neolodge, i think its because i take them to the lab ray? because that pet is always highly depressed. *adds a spa and room service*

and you guys just remined me that my neighbours kids also play on the computer, since their dads has a virus/worm? which is odd and doesn't let them on the internet, and anyway, their security settings block flash games, *writes another email*

thanks for all the advice everyone :) its been very helpful and probably stopped me from making a big mistake! :P

If you see my sanity, get it to give me a call.
