Seriously, are they really good for anything, or just another silly thing to collect?

Oh, they absolutely affect the happiness of the pets on my accounts.
Since my pets have had petpets, they've always been "joyful" or "delighted"! :D

They only get miserable when they are sick or lab zapped. The best part of this is that cheap petpets work just as well as any of them!

my pets have always had petpets, literally from the moment they were born (in kristy's case, as soon as they came out) and my pets have never been below joyful, even the lab rat. there are some cheap ones out there too, as well as some prized ones.
i have a few painted petpets and 4 petpetpets.
*hugs korky, slimy the plushie slorg and his zytch

Yeah, my pets rarely stoop below content nowadays. Three of them have petpets. I would say most definitely they do.

Oh, and the only reason they get de-happified for me is when they're sick, low HP, or are zapped by the lab ray.

I honestly have no idea whether petpets do anything for a pet's happiness level. All of mine do have petpets, except my lab pet - I adopt, zap and once they turn a great color, I put them in the pound for someone else to adopt, and start over. I've not yet had the lab ray do anything to a pet's happiness level.

I just like the challenge of finding a petpet to go with a particular pet. My pets never really go below "joyful" unless they get *shudder* sick. I do play with them about once a week, give them holidays in the lodge too. Yes, my virtual pets are as spoiled as my real life pet!

I haven't really noticed much difference.

Eliandrali176 & Rabbina17621 went almost 16 months without petpets before their happiness level stooped below content.

Ten_Cents17 didn't seem to mind either way - petpet or not, he never went below content.

babatasha is a different story - since she's an adoptee, I noticed she was always unhappy without a petpet. Since I got her that Chezzoom however, she seems to be doing alright.

I guess it's different for all pets ^^;

I always though so, and I still do.
Right now, all 4 of my pets have petpets, and they're all happy... but a while ago one of them didnt have a petpet and he was at content... Then again, it could be because hes grey

Is it just some pets that get unhappy from being zapped? My lab rat has been zapped daily for 6 months and the only time he gets below joyful is if he gets sick.

With petpets the only time either of my pets happiness drops is if they get sick and I look at my quickref. If I don't look, it either doesn't drop at all or only drops from delighted! to joyful.

What would Honor do?
