Come on now, everything comes in 5's... boybands come in 5's.... the ninja turtles needed a new season 4 years later JUST so that it could add a 5th ninja turtle.... I mean, 5's are very in right now. So why can't we get 5 Neopets?

TNT have said in various places such as the editorial that they have talked about it, but dont have any plans for them in the near future. (Which really stinks for me because I have a set of elemental neopets, and I need 1 more neopet to complete my ultimate neopet team... I will not rest until we get 5 pets!!)


So anyway, I had a fun idea that would enable us to get 5 pets. If you want a 5th pet, you could get one if you REALLY wanted one, but only if you could prove it. If you had 4 pets allready, but think you would like to still take care of another, you should be able to show that you can take care of the other 4, first! They should have something where if ALL 4 of your neopets are a) Completely Fed B) completely happy C) Not ill or injured from battle D) at least level 10 (EDIT: autechre thought of a good idea that E) having an age requirement would be a nice addition to the list as well... maybe.. a year? is that too much to ask) then you will be eligible for a 5th neopet! Thats just an idea, maybe there would be different variations or rules to getting one, but do you guys like that idea? If you showed that you took care of your 4 Neopets so you got to create a 5th?

I want a royal acara sooo badly for my acara team. How could I ever be an Acara QUEEN without a royal in the family? LOL.

I'd do just about anything for one more in the crew, and I'd gladly prove I could handle another mouth to feed, but I imagine the issue would be with server space? I'm no tech, but a fifth pet slot would take up the system a lot I guess. More petpages to be saved, more pet lookups in the system, not to mention what books they read, what petepets they have, battle scores, etc, etc.

Maybe if they did something so save up some space? Like delete accounts that have been inactive and not logged in to for 3 years or more or something like that? All of those would free up a lot of space.

um.. i don't think the sponsors would like the number of acounts to drop SO much.. although this just HAS to be done.. and deleting the frozen acounts after a year.. i mean, all they do is take up usernames..

I know, i would do anything too! Right now, i have a ghost draik for air/earth, a fire krawk for fire/darkness, a desert poogle for light/power(electricity) and a purple jetsam for water/ice *there werent any colors that were better* so right now, I REALLLLY would like a 5th neopet so i can have a stone/mechanical neopet which I really want to be a robot pet, mainly a robot kiko... im willing to spend any ammount of neopoints to get a 5th pet as well!

Wow, you people love to collect Neopets eh? I myself only have one Neopet, and it is enough for me already. I wonder why would you all want so many Neopets other than because you want to make a "family" of them?

I think my biggest problem with the idea as presented would be the level requirement; I always have one level 1 pet because of the lab taking levels, and I'd hate for that to prevent me from getting a 5th pet if everyone who wasn't a non-battle focused lab user could.

i think even if they don't allow us to have 5 pets, ene though i would really really want one, is to clear all those inactive accounts they are some nice names, *sigh* plus also fix those shop things, going into a shop with a really cheap item and finding it doesn't work is very annoying..

but i think your idea is pretty good tww but do you think there should be a time period as well? that people can show that within the space of say, a month, they did look after their pets properly, i'm not sure about the level 10 thing, but i agree that pets need to be fed and happy

The level thing was just an idea.... i was just labeling different variables that could be considered for judging whether you should have a 5th pet or not. *Whoah, sorry if that sentence was confusing.. im working on a very wordy english report right now *



Yeah, I guess it is kind of like a family. My neopets ARE my family *neopets is my home away from home* ..and its not that wer want to collect neopets and we want to have so many.... if people want to do that they make more accounts. I would like to be able to have a 5th pet to complete my team of neopets, and for the rest, 5 actually sounds like a good number of neopets to have.

One thing to take into consideration... if people ask for 5 pets, and recieve them, would they start asking for 6? That could be another reason why neopets is hesitating, but who knows for sure. I wouldnt want a 6th pet, that would be way too much... but simply having 5 pets would just make my life on neopets 110% better

In a way it's about "collecting" to me. I just lurve Acaras, so naturally, I wanted as many of them as I could get in the colors for the species I most liked, so my quad squad consists of a baby, maraquan, robot, and plushie acara. When they came out with Royal I was flabbergasted. I want one of those too, but I don't want to change any of my other 4 acaras for one...I do love them (sounds silly) and they are the most important thing to me in my account. I'm 28 years old and I spoil my useless images and cherish them very much. It doesn't sound logical, but I do it anyhow. LOL.

ALSO, a fifth pet would be AWESOMENESS for me because I could get back into avatar collecting. I used to be an avid collector, but after I got the collector avatar I quit...because with my squad completed I was locked out of all sorts of avatars that are pet specific since all of my pets have petpets and petpetpets attached, like "pwned" from lab, gruslen, mazzew, orange grundo, island quiggle, buzzin', shoyru bless, elephante surprise, etc are allllll untouchable to me now. With a fifth pet slot I could actually have some fun again with lab (which my map has been long gathering dust), collect some avatars I never got, and then finally add my royal acara to the squad.

I agree with TWW, I could easily go for 5 pets. But 6 would be too much. 5, like baby bear's porridge, is just right.

I want the option to have a 5th pet for last reason Val posted: the lab. I have 4 pets that I cherish dearly and would hate to lose. One is undergoing lab training right now, but when TNT releases Tyrannian Lupes (*nudges Adam*) I'm going to stop labbing him and turn him into one. However, that leaves me with all four pet slots filled with my beloved pets and a useless lab ray, because I'd never zap any of my other pets. I'm currently toying with the idea of transferring one to a different account, because I'd like to be able to use the lab to zap pound pets. But if I lost any of my pets I'd be totally devastated. This is why the option to adopt a 5th pet would be a dream come true for me. I don't have to risk losing any of my pets, but my lab ray doesn't go to waste either.

Maybe they could make it a toolbar ability. They've talked about having different sidebars give different advantages to the player, so maybe it could be something like, "get X sidebar, be able to get another pet".

although that is a really great idea, the possibilites of getting that sidebar would be very slim, or at least VERY expensive. I know what you mean, about the lab. There are some of my normal pets that I wanna lab, but I don't wanna risk transfering my darigan pets to another account. I already lost a faerie kacheek because of it (I adopted her faerie so it wasn't a big deal) but my lab worked hard to make my pets darigan.

If I had a slot for a fifth pet, I would like to be able to lab a pet and then put them in the pound. I'd probably end up with one I couldn't part with though.

I think it would be fun if we could have like an exchange program where you can send your pet to someone but only for a week. After that the pet would come back to you. That way you could own someone else's pet for a little while.

Yeah, I would even sacrifice the idea of having 5 pets if there ever became an option to where we could transfer our pets safely, say, to a gallery or spare account without having to undergo the dangers of the pound to transfer them.

A "pet relocation service" would be awesome. Indeed. If we could do that, I could get avatars again, play with the lab again, and still keep all 4 of my cherished babies.

I could never do that now though, becuase I love them too much to risk the pound to transfer. I'd cry for weeks if I ever lost one...

It makes more sense anyhow. Who in real life decides to take the family cat and throw him into the pound for a while as they move him into a new house?

That'd be cool, but I like having my three at the moment. It would be a nice feature, though.
